The editors didn't like

  • Confusing icons in the settings menu
  • No standard 4
  • 3 setting for photos
  • Footage can look very wobbly
  • Doesn't float
  • Poor indoor performance
  • Only mono sound
  • Lots of wind noise on microphone
  • Digital zoom makes for worse footage
  • Fingers can stray into shot
  • Mono sound
  • Some menu icons impenetrable
  • Lens itself is tiny
  • Minuses
  • 48 mm focal length in 1080p
  • No optical zoom
  • No microphone entry
  • There’s not too much to criticise the Playsport for
  • As it’s generally a fresh and fun camcorder/camera. We didn’t really rate it’s low-light performance
  • Which was a bit murky and the 4x zoom felt ‘sticky’ when we wanted it to be smooth.
  • Mono microphone and speaker – picks up wind noise
  • No convenient flip out USB arm offered as on direct competitors
  • Tiny lens means this is better for outdoor use

  • Great still photos; very good video and image quality; waterproof down to 10 feet deep
  • Button layout often leads to accidental presses, $249
  • Though the Playsport Zx3 isn’t the easiest camera to use, it does a very good job at performing its main duty: making videos. If you care more about the quality of the videos you want to make than how easy it is to operate the camera you want to make t...

  • Form factor; Build; Waterproof up to 3 metres; Easy to operate; Full HD capabilities; Good video quality; Comes with HDMI out of the box; Attractive price point
  • Images taken on the camera not suitable for large prints; Battery life; Lacks a couple of shortcut keys (like H2O) that could have made it even easier to use

  • The MRP of PlaySport is Rs. 8,999. Kodak currently has an offer on, which retails the PlaySport for Rs 7,999. Also assuming a 16GB card costs aroung Rs. 2,500, the cost of owning the PlaySport shoots up to Rs 10,499. It is good to carry on picnics and...
