  • The dedicated knobs for exposure compensation and ISO settings are a brilliant design feature. It is a joy to use. And image quality is outstanding, even at higher ISO speeds. To say we are surprised is an understatement. With 14.7 megapixels we expect...
  • We didn’t dislike the mass of the camera, but for some people it will be off-putting. If you think that compact means pocketable then the G10 is not for you. We think it feels like a real camera!
  • If we were in the market for a compact camera to supplement the DSLR we would be torn between the G10 and the Panasonic LX3. The LX3 is daintier and has fewer pixels, which we like. It has an outstanding Leica-branded lens that doesn’t have quite th...

  • Relatively low noise at ISO 800, effective image stabilisation, ideal for low-light shooting, excellent macro performance, natural-looking colours, hot-shoe for flash, can accommodate tele-converter
  • Shutter feels a little spongy, sometimes missed the focus point, zoom is jumpy
  • The G10 is compact but it packs plenty of manual features and is ideal for an enthusiast who doesn’t want to lug around a D-SLR. We found it to be very well-suited to low-light photography and macro shots, but it will perform well in any situation...

  • Abstract:  Straight up, the 14.7-megapixel Canon PowerShot G10 just looks cool. There's something appealing about its old-school rangefinder styling, and the little lights that glow orange next to the old-timey ISO and EV compensation dials. What's more, this is a s...

  • Easily accessible settings on top deck; 28mm wide-angle lens; natural-looking colors in photographs; speedy performance.
  • Heavy and a tad bulky; no major improvements to feature set from G9.
  • The G10 is going to be tough competition for the Lumix and other pro-level point-and-shoots, but it boils down to the image quality which is subjective. The features have not changed much, though it should satisfy those looking for a compact shooter to co...
