  • The Coolpix A is a bit of a Curate's egg: excellent in parts. Consequently, even though we can't complain about the camera's image quality, for its price we can't justify giving it an Editor's Choice nomination. Once you've overcome the counter-intuitive ...

  • Excellent image quality. Robust shooting design. Very sharp, fixed lens. Accurate automatic white balance every time
  • Slower than desired autofocus, plus a minimum focusing distance of 50cm. Ring around lens element is only for manual focus, not for adjusting exposure parameters. No external microphone jack
  • With the same-sized sensor as a digital SLR, it's no surprise that the Coolpix A smashes image quality out of the park, with a sharp lens and excellent optical performance....

  • Buying Guide Best Nikon Coolpix Nikon has produced a very interesting premium compact camera with the Coolpix A. The APS-C sized sensor proves its worth, capturing lots of detail and keeping noise well within acceptable boundaries. Having a larger than av...

  • Compact size, Fantastic Quality due to bigger APSC sensor, Sharp Lens, Good grip.
  • Noticeable Lens distortion in closeups, No zoom, Focus lamp is very strong often disturbing the subject, No touchscreen at this price, Expensive
  • I really enjoyed my time with Nikon A and would heartily recommend it to all my friends who want to go the DSLR way but will not due to the hefty sizes of DSLR's. The Nikon A solves size issues but brings a few others, namely lens distortion and absolute...

  • Large 16MP APS-C Sensor, Fast 28mm f/2.8 lens, Good high ISO performance
  • Slow FPS, No dedicated Video recording button, Rear dial feels underwhelming due to lack of functionality
  • The advanced point and shoot is finally starting to come of age, with many major players joining the league. The Nikon Coolpix A is the first of its kind from the House of Nikon, but it is still a solid contender. Its lens is somewhat outperformed by the ...

  • Priced at an MRP of a whopping Rs 54,950, the Coolpix A does come across as being ridiculously expensive. However, bear in mind that the Coolpix A is targeted at enthusiasts who want DSLR-like controls and imaging quality in a compact form. It's worthy o...

  • Abstract:  The Nikon COOLPIX A is the newest in the range of large sensor, compact cameras with fixed lenses. It comes with a 16MP APS-C sensor, the same size of sensors found in entry to mid-level DSLR cameras. Rumors are that the COOLPIX A's sensor is based on the...
