  • Rugged design, Comfortable to use, Geo-tagging
  • Sometimes struggled with exposure, Video mode not great, LCD hard to see when outdoors
  • Consider the Nikon AW100 if you're an outdoors type that can make use of the camera's rugged design. It's waterproof and shockproof, yet it doesn't really compromise when it comes to usability. It's picture quality is also clear and vibrant for the most p...

  • Action control is useful. GPS updates with zero fuss. Great-quality HD video for a camera in this class
  • Very limited exposure control. Image detail falters at mid- to high-ISO levels
  • Even though the AW100 is Nikon's first attempt at a rugged compact camera, it doesn't show. The AW100 is easy to use, and has a range of features well suited to action adventurers and everyday photographers....

  • The sensible zoom range means that images are sharp at both focal length extremes. Exposure is consistently accurate. The GPS works well. Movie mode is outstanding and the 120 page instruction manual is clear and comprehensive.
  • We do have a question about the useability, in extreme situations, of a camera with such small buttons. Nikon is no different from other cameras in the indestructible category
  • The Nikon goes up to the top of desirable indesctructibles, alongside the Canon Powershot D10 and Panasonic FT10. We took the camera to the Zoo, shooting in harsh contrasty light and were pleased with the auto exposure and the detail preserved in extreme...

  • while this is a camera of limited flexibility, and with some weaknesses in shooting capabilities, it's also a great little starter camera for someone wanting a gadget that can survive the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune (or a school backpack).Jo...

  • Abstract:  Tough, waterproof point-and-shoot cameras are supposed to be awesome. Small enough to fit in your pocket. Submersible to depths of 40 feet. Able to survive drops from heights above a man's head.We put four of these cameras through gadget hell to determine...

  • The Nikon Coolpix AW100 is available in India at a street price of Rs.15,000. The camera has some really amazing features and looks pretty stylish as well, especially for a rugged camera. It is quite slim, too, as far as compact cameras, in general, ar...

  • The Nikon Coolpix AW100 marries rugged good looks with good image quality. As with most rugged cameras, you have to work within trade-offs, the stronger zoom toggle offers less finesse than a standard compact camera's zoom nub, but it's sturdier. There ar...
