  • Excellent build. Superb images. Built-in shake reduction. Unique dust removal system. Very low power consumption.
  • FlashMmust be raised manually. Continuous shooting at 2.8 frames per second is limited to four photos until buffer clears.
  • The Pentax K200D can be used with confidence right out of the box by novice and advanced photographers alike. And it won’t need to be replaced for a long time—the highest compliment a DSLR can earn....

  • At first glance the Pentax K200D simply looks like an incremental upgrade of the K100D Super, with relatively few additions on offer apart from the 10 megapixel resolution (up from 6 megapixels) and a couple of new buttons. Thankfully Pentax have also...

  • Abstract:  The big winner of this roundup is undeniably the Canon EOS 450D. It was close to the head of the pack in all categories, and it really shined in the area of image quality. It’s also the camera that was the most pleasant to handle, and Canon’s attentio...

  • Abstract:  The Pentax K200D is a 10.2-megapixel digital SLR with a 2.7-inch LCD monitor and Pentax’s Shake Reduction image stabilization system. The camera has a dustproof, water-resistant body that is compatible with every Pentax lens ever made. Pentax says the ...

  • Tough and weatherproof body, Built-in Shake Reduction, Convenient AA battery power, Broad degree of customisation.
  • No Live View facilities, Anti-shake not as effective as rivals, Disappointing continuous shooting, Tendency to underexpose.
  • Support this site by price checking below The K200D’s strengths and weaknesses against the competition are pretty consistent from the comparisons above. For the same money or a little less you could buy a lighter DSLR with Live View facilities and e...

  • Build, image quality, features, low noise
  • Speed, kit lens AF, easily scratched shell, tight SD slot
  • I really enjoyed using the K200D. It is logical to handle and its build quality means I’d be happy to use it in harsher conditions. The images I got from the camera also were very pleasing, especially considering previous exposure problems with othe...

  • Abstract:  The new PENTAX K200D dSLR is designed for the novice photographer. Yet it includes many advanced features including a 10.2-megapixel CCD sensor, a weather-resistant body and in-body anti shake & dust removal systems. As the replacement for the K100D th...

  • Sensor-shift image stabilization; wireless flash control; sensitivity-priority mode; dust and water resistant.
  • Inaccurate, though still pleasing colors; tends to underexpose images; no live view mode.
  • Pentaxs K200D entry-level SLR gives a lot of bang for the buck and has better performance than last years model. Despite low noise and pleasingly detailed images, technically inaccurate colors keep it from capturing the gold medal for image quality.

  • Abstract:  The latest entry level model from Pentax is the K200D, replacing last years K100D Super. Rather than being a complete new camera the K200D is more an upgrade, but is not without some interesting and very useful features. Not least amongst these is the wea...

  • Abstract:  Pentax is the Rodney Dangerfield of camera companies—they just don’t get any respect. The fact they operate on a shoestring budget, have recently been taken over by lens-maker Hoya and have as much clout with your local mega-retailer as I...
