The editors didn't like

  • Poor sensitivity (800 ISO best avoided
  • 1600 ISO unusable)
  • Responsiveness in reallife situations
  • Touchscreen interface isn't always logical (e.g. choosing shooting mode)
  • Lowgrade mono sound
  • No video record button
  • Video image too contrasted
  • Unfortunately
  • Photo quality wasn't quite as good as we were expecting
  • With images lacking in sharpness. We also found blue fringing around the edges of some of our photographs
  • And there are better cameras out there for overall quality.
  • Poor quality screen
  • Touchscreen sometimes unresponsive
  • MicroSD card format is small and fiddly
  • Average default image quality
  • The flip-out display is a nice feature to have but the display isn’t as responsive as it could be
  • Made more noticeable on those occasions requiring you to swipe the menus. If only it were as sensitive as Samsung’s smartphones. Photo quality isn’t bad at all
  • But depending on the ISO setting used
  • The Samsung MV800 can lack some detail in darker conditions
  • But again

  • Looks incredibly stylish. Unique flip-up rear LCD screen. Plenty of filters and in-camera options
  • Extreme lens distortion at wide end. Very noisy and poor-quality images. Body is very small and can slip out of the hand
  • The MV800 is a beautifully designed camera at an attractive price, but it is very difficult to recommend because it takes poor photos....

  • Flipout screen, Fun art filters, Sleek
  • Poor quality screen, Touchscreen sometimes unresponsive
  • Given the heavy advertising budget and the appeal of a flip-out screen, we can see the Samsung MV800 becoming a bestseller. Unfortunately, the quality of the pictures and the low quality of the screen let it down. That said, there are other elements of th...

  • Packed with fun features; great for self-portraits; compact design.
  • Uses a microSD instead of SD; a bit laggy; touchscreen is a fingerprint magnet.
  • All in all, this is one compact and fun piece of hardware that allows its user to edit photos, add effects or borders and print them out, all without ever touching a computer. The Samsung MV800 will be a great item for your photo loving but hopeless p...
