Very nice to use and hold. Excellent LCD screen. Very good image and video quality. Fun and useful picture effects
Larger lenses can overwhelm the small body. Kit lens doesn't deliver the most from the sensor. Need to fiddle and delve in the menus to make the most of manual modes
Sony has created a great little interchangeable lens camera in the NEX-C3, although it's not exactly what we'd call compact with the kit lens attached....

The quality of images from the new sensor is consistently superb. The detail, colour, exposure and focus in JPEG form are comparable with the best DSLRs that use this same sensor. We set both focus and exposure to centre spot and mode to P and rarely had
Barrel and pincushion distortion at the focal length extremes is bad enough to be disturbing, particularly when taking photos of buildings. The absence of any sort of optical viewfinder makes framing in bright sun light almost impossible
We did our usual pseudo tourist test of the NEX-C3 to see how it performs in real world conditions. We were delighted with the results and not a little surprised. Most of the time we were shooting almost blind because the LCD is unreadable in bright sunli...

excellent image quality, sensor size comparable to most consumer SLR cameras, more portable than a fullon SLR rig but as friendly to use as a pocket camera, Sony going for compatibility: video mode records in MP4 instead of AVCHD, camera takes SD in addit
limited selection of lenses in the Sony Emount range thus far, bundled external flash is fiddly and probably won't be mounted when you need it, form factor a little awkward, might take getting used to, image stabilization not built into the body, only on
