  • sensational image quality in the frame centre up from the maximum relative aperture, very good image quality on the edge of the frame both on the APSC/DX and on full frame, negligible chromatic aberration, well corrected spherical aberration, zero distort
  • modest accessory kit, vignetting on full frame could have been lower.
  • Looking at the list of pros and cons, published above, and comparing the results of other lenses, tested by us in particular categories it is pretty transparent that all 90–105 mm stabilized macro lenses keep a similar, very high level. It doesn't mean th...

  • Sharpness, contrast and colour are all outstanding, The silent focusing and general look and feel of the lens are luxurious, better than previous Tamrons, Manual focus is beautifully smooth and well-damped
  • The autofocus, although smooth, quiet and accurate, can be a little lethargic, gliding into focus rather than snapping. There is also some hunting for focus in lowcontrast light
  • Tamron has really delivered a fine lens at an attractive price. At 90/135mm focal length (depending on sensor size), it is a good portrait lens. Out-of-focus background highlights (bokeh) are soft and luminous. Tamron describes it as ''moisture proof'', a...

  • Sharpness, contrast and colour are all outstanding. The silent focusing and general look and feel of the lens are luxurious, better we would say than previous Tamrons. Manual focus is beautifully smooth and well damped.
  • The autofocus, although smooth, quiet and accurate, can be a little lethargic, gliding into focus rather than snapping. There is also some hunting for focus in low contrast light. (Tested on a Canon 5DMkII)
