Abstract: The finished Sonata IV looks pretty good for a steel-and-plastic model, even though we did not apply the one-inch-square logo sticker to the appropriate place on its door (designed to hold standardized builder logos of yesteryear).
The three system cases from Antec that I have tested today are all very quiet (at the minimum speed of the preinstalled fans, of course) but also very different. The only thing they have in common is the handy and easily accessible block of I/O ports....
Abstract: Antec's venerable Sonata line feels largely unchanged from its first iteration. That's not entirely a bad thing: aesthetically the Sonata IV is easily one of the sleekest, most attractive enclosures...
Excellent Noise Absorption For Near Silent Computing, Impeccable Fit and Finish, Engineering and Layout Make Installation Easy, Configurable Three Chamber Design To Tailor Component Airflow, Excellent Airflow With Many Flow/Noise Balancing Options, Three Speed Fan Control For Cooling/Silence Balance, Top Quality Materials Used In Every Component,
No Opening In Motherboard Tray To Accommodate Easy CPU Cooler Mounting, Fan Can Get Loud On Highest Setting, gold
There is no questioning that Antec has turned out a beautiful case in the Sonata IV. It has a sleek design, an attractive and very functional front panel and a finish that is just about unrivaled in the tech world. It is going to look at home in any li...
Tidy interior. Large power supply included. Front panel USB 3.0 port.
No frills, inside or out. Cramped interior. No spaces for additional fans. Can't house longest video cards.
The Sonata IV marks the latest in Antec's line of subdued all-purpose cases. It's well constructed, but so bereft of bells and whistles it's almost best suited to beginning builders. Buy it now...
Great Looking, USB 3.0 Support, Very Quiet, Included 620 watt PSU, Case can be locked for security, Included 120mm TriCool fan,
Only mounts for one cooling fan, Hard drive cage cumbersome, Breakaway 5.25" covers, Rough edges all over inside, A bit expensive for its offerings
The performance of this case was good. I did not notice a huge increase in temperatures between idle and load on my CPU. My idle/load temps for my Phenom II 1080T were 24/36 degrees Celsius. Over time, and after a long gaming session, however, I still...
