The editors liked

  • Touchscreen
  • Good contrast
  • Bigger screen than the Eee Top
  • DVD Writer
  • DVD playback
  • Sexy design
  • Touchscreen (at first)
  • Looks great. DVD drive. Excellent screen and interface
  • This is a very smart machine for the money. The design is in keeping with MSI’s love of all things white and minimal
  • Not unlike some old-school Apple kit. Set up is swift and the machine is speedy enough for basic tasks such as web browsing
  • Email and word docs. Anything more than that though and the Intel Atom processor will struggle to keep up with the pace
  • Reducing things to a snail’s pace.
  • Stunning looks
  • Amazing video playback
  • Responsive touchscreen
  • Small footprint
  • DVD drive

The editors didn't like

  • CPU Performance
  • Sound
  • Speakers and headphone jack
  • Same resolution as the Eee Top
  • Large HD video files dont work
  • Mouse too small
  • Cheap peripherals
  • Slow processor
  • Touchscreen (after a day)
  • Very expensive. Wi-Fi issues
  • The touchscreen tech is pretty good
  • But the proprietary Wind Touch UI leaves a lot to be desired. Frankly
  • Touch tech on large machines like this is very much a personal thing and this gadget is really about keeping things basic. There aren’t many apps on board that take advantage of the touchscreen
  • So it feel as if the tech has been tacked on.
  • Performance could be better
  • Wired keyboard and mouse

  • Responsive Touchscreen Display, Larger Hard Drive and Memory Than Other Nettops
  • Vista Basic Operating System Slower Than Windows XP, Dual Core Atom Processor Still Underpowered
  • Jul 6 2009 - The MSI Wind Top AE1900-10SUS differs from many other all-in-one nettops because it bypasses the Windows XP operating system for Vista so that it can have improved memory and hard drive capacities. This combined with the very response 18.5...

  • Amazingly affordable and loaded to the gills. Touchscreen makes this a perfect kiddie computer. Slim profile lets it fit just about anywhere. Cuter than a box of puppies.
  • Performance problems dog the user at every turn. Flashing blue harddrive activity light is front and center, terribly distracting and impossible to cover up. Bundled keyboard and mouse are beyond cheap. Webcam aim cant be adjusted.

  • Abstract:  Intel never intended for the ultra-low-voltage Atom processor to power anything but ultraportable PCs, but its widespread popularity in netbooks has now earned the chip yet another new home in desktop computers as well. Manufacturers like Asus, Averat...

  • Sleek—though derivative—design; uses less power than non-Atom-based all-in-one desktops; quiet
  • Woefully underpowered compared with all-in-ones that cost little more; weak speakers; tray-loading DVD drive; touch-centric software is oddly organized; Vista Basic OS lacks Media Center
  • The $599 MSI Wind Top AE1900-05SUS is an inexpensive touch-screen-enabled all-in-one desktop, but it’s now outclassed by other all-in-one offerings that cost as little as $100 more. ...

  • Abstract:  MSI is the latest computer maker to leap into the fast-evolving, all-in-one PC category with the lightweight Wind Top, which has been designed to grace almost any space in the home. With its clean glass finish, the Wind Top makes a handsome addition...

  • Won’t take up much space, built-in DVD burner, reasonable performance for basic tasks
  • Touch screen doesn’t support gestures, touch screen not easy to use for scrolling and dragging actions, MSI Wind Touch interface can’t be customised, no front-facing ports
  • MSI’s Wind Top AE1900 is an all-in-one PC that won’t take up much space on a desk. It has a touch screen and a built-in DVD burner, and it can be used for basic tasks. ...

  • Touch interface , Optical drive
  • Loud, noticeable fan , No keyboard , Still a low-powered computing solution
  • MSI's Wind Top AE1900 tries harder than most to sell the nettop concept, but still falls flat in several specific areas, especially value for money....

  • Good touchscreen, DVD writer, Slim design
  • Average performance
  • A very good choice for an entry level all-in-one desktop PC. The MSI Wind Top AE1900 is very similar to the Eee Top 1602, but has a better touch interface and it comes with a DVD writer....
