We really cant recommend the Archos TV+, which is a shame because we really wanted it to live up to our expectations. Sadly the difficulty we had setting it up, plus the lack of high definition playback, are major issues that the Archos TV+ failed to...

Design; a nice idea on paper
Cost; lack of HD support; lack of codec support; video plug-ins cost extra
Archos TV+ is too expensive, lacks support for some key codecs out of the box and doesnt offer any form of HD functionality. Its ability to record from DVD or Freeview/Sky/Cable STB might interest some with Archos PMPs ...
Easy to use, Shuffles videos, 80GB of internal storage, Integrated IR transmitter, Great remote control
Very basic features and interface compared to other media players, Have to purchase additional plug-ins to access many features included on other devices, DVR functionality only with additional hardware, Not high definition

Small, Good clear music streaming, Good range of features
Additional plug ins bring the price up, No HD recording, Complicated freeview connection
The Archos TV+ looks good on the box but opening it up brings a host of problems. Add to this additional charges and all you will get is disappointment
Works as a DVR, media extender; built-in Web browser; can copy television programming to portable USB devices; many connection options; good amount of storage for the price
Stale user interface; no HD support; cant record two programs simultaneously; plug-ins for additional file types, Flash support cost extra
A DVR and media extender in one, the Archos TV+ is chock full of features, but its not without its limitations. ...
