  • Plenty of capacity,Impressive performance levels,Reliable in operation,
  • Proprietary cable connector, Style won't suit everyone, Not as fast as SSD,
  • The WD Black 10 is a fine external hard disk drive that's suitable for a number of jobs, as long as you're aware that you're trading the superior performance that SSD offers for a more affordable price. It's fine for storing and transporting games and any...

  • The styling of the WD Black P10 is interesting, but it doesn't impact much on the critical functionality inside. And, if you strip away that shipping container appearance this is a quick 2.5in hard drive in a USB 3.0 enclosure, or USB 3.2 Gen 1, as this in...

  • If you're a console gamer, we're fairly sure you'll have come across the issue of running out of capacity for the latest releases, resulting in you deleting games that you might want to play again soon; but if you need the space, that's the only remedy. H...

  • Consistent performance,Good value,Rugged chassis,Plenty of storage for all your games,Plug and play interface
  • Slower than any SSD available today,Uses USB 3.0 Micro-B connector
  • The WD Black P10 Game Drive is just about the best portable HDD you can get your hands on at the moment. It has a durable design, delivers consistent performance that averages out to 130MB/s - more than adequate for daily use - and it's sold in a 5TB vers...

  • “Gamer aesthetics” are useful heat dissipation, Sturdy and compact, Solid price to performance ratio, Consistently top of the curve on speed, 3-year warranty
  • Why are we still using Micro-B as an interface, That cable is a tad short, 5400 rpm drives yield 5400 rpm drive speeds
  • The P10 is listed as “Game Drive”, extending the life of the previous generation just a little bit longer while the market tries to overcome supply chain issues to get the newest gear into our hands. While its use case dwindles as we sunset the 8th genera...

  • Abstract:  In an era when 50GB of iCloud storage is 99 cents per month, and trim, slim external SSDs are getting cheaper, external hard drives, based on spinning platter disks, might appear less essential than they once were. But modern ones are faster, more stylish...

  • Abstract:  Most new computers don't come with much storage space -- unless you're splurging on a high-end model, they usually have 256 or 512 gigabytes. Game consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox One come with 1-terabyte drives (which is roughly 1,000GB), but if you don't regularly take games off the drive as you acquire more, the drives max out easily. A good storage solution is to find the best external hard drive for your needs. A traditional hard drive that uses "old" hard drive technology (mechanical platters and a moving read-write head to access data) is adequate for the majority of users, thanks to speedier USB-C and USB 3.0 (as well as 3.1/3.2) interfaces. Prices have dropped significantly in the last few years, with even mega-capacity models tipping the scales at 5TB but costing just over $100. A solid state drive doesn't have moving parts and has up to four times faster read speeds, but it costs a lot more per gigabyte.
