  • Excellent performance for a 2.5" drive
  • Excellent performance overall when repeatedly using the same small files
  • Value for money
  • Almost desktop drive performance
  • Excellent performance at a significantly lower price than solidstate drives (SSDs)
  • Larger capacity than SSDs
  • Generous fiveyear warranty

The editors didn't like

  • 4 GB isn't much for the SSD part
  • Performance improvement limited to two or three pieces of software
  • No write acceleration
  • Power use same as traditional drive
  • More expensive than traditional hard drives
  • Capacity currently tops out at 500GB
  • Doesn't support the new 6Gbps SATA 3.0 standard
