  • Yes. If you want a taste of SSD speeds but cant afford one, or simply need more storage and dont feel like Frankenstein-ing your rig with a combo SSD/HDD setup. Its not a bad deal at all for $180, when an SSD for with a third of the storage costs twice...

  • Abstract:  Seagate has sent the generation Momentus XT Drive with 750gig of storage space. Compared to its predecessor (1st Gen Momentus XT ST95005620AS drive), ST750LX003 Seagate Momentus XT 750 GB is with larger Flash NAND, SATA 6Gb/s interface- anything that one ...

  • Build Quality, Form Factor (9.5mm), Hybrid Drive (750GB HDD 8GB SSD), Performance (bootup, load times), SATA III
  • Price (For Some), 8GB SLC NAND Flash May Not Be Enough For Everyone
  • As seen in our benchmarks the 2nd Generation Momentus XT 750GB 2.5" SATA III hybrid drive is not the power monster some of you may had expected it to be but to be completely honest with all of you this was not the intention of Seagate in the fi...

  • Flash memory means faster speeds. Drive adapts to your usage.
  • Moving parts means it’s still susceptible to damage, just like your regular drive. Speeds up boot times, but transferring files is pretty much the same as traditional drives. Higher cost-per-gigabyte.
  • The Momentus XT is a hybrid in the best possible sense. You get the capacity of a traditional disk, along with (some of) the speed of an SSD, without breaking the bank. Product Momentus XT Hybrid Drive Company Seagate Contact Seagate.com Price $2...

  • Increases access speeds and reduces boot times. Requires no additional hardware. Works with all operating systems.
  • Not as fast as SSDs or other hybrid solutions. Benefits don't kick in right away
  • With the Momentus XT (750GB) Seagate has improved its line of internal hybrid storage devices by boosting both capacity and performance....

  • Abstract:  When I first used Seagate’s Momentus XT drive about a year ago, I was floored by how fast it was. The hybrid drive gave you awesome speeds on commonly used applications and the storage space that allowed you to keep plenty of files on hand. You couldn’...

  • I suppose it's fitting that Seagate didn't change the name of the Momentus XT in its second generation. Although the new drive is larger, faster and better in almost every way than its predecessor, it's still very much an evolution of the original. If you...

  • The result of this roundup is that due to the various hardware configurations each Hybrid solution is created for, there is no clear winner. The RevoDrive Hybrid dominates the field, but can only be installed into a desktop class machine. The Seagate Mome...

  • Abstract:  Looking no different than any common 2.5" notebook hard drive, the trick up the Momentus XT's sleeve that it learns what data you frequently use and caches this to its 8GB of internal flash memory. Manufacturer: Category: Published: Author: Sea...

  • The Seagate Momentus XT (second generation) offers performance similar to solid-state drives (SSDs) while being much more affordable. The new drive now supports SATA 3 (6Gbps) and provides 750GB of storage space
  • The new Seagate Momentus XT is noticeably more expensive than regular hard drives of the same storage space. Its data copy speed is comparatively slower than that of high-end hard drives
  • Similar to the original, the Momentus XT (second generation) makes an excellent host drive for any computer, both laptops and desktops. It offers great value in terms of performance and cost, especially when compared to SDDs.
