  • Abstract:  Video Review: The Western Digital Caviar SE16 750GB Hard Drive (WD7500AAKS) is one of the largest hard drives currently on the market. Why does anyone need a hard drive this large? Well, if you are asking this question, you probably don't. On the other hand, if you have or are building a Home Theatre PC you most certainly can have definite use of a massive hard drive. Movies, family videos, music, TV shows, games and other data requires a lot of space. This hard drive performs very well, is quiet and affordable. It's a must have for any serious computer user. Watch the video to find out more and check out the bloopers at the end.

  • The new Western Digital WD7500AAKS Caviar SE16 750GB hard drive is one of those rare times when I can clearly say recommending this product is right thing to do. The performance of the new perpendicular-based 188GB platters makes this model almost as...

  • Strong performance, especially in real world settings, Cool and quiet, PCB has no exposed features, reducing risk of damage, Attractively priced
  • Three year warranty is OK, but five years is obviously better
  • Western Digital may not be able to toot their horn for being the first to the 750GB plateau, but unless you have a time machine and want to go back 15 months, does it really matter at this point? The Caviar SE16 WD7500AAKS 750GB Hard Drive is one of a ...

  • The Western Digital WD7500AAKS is a very solid entry by WD into an extremely competitive marketplace. Its performance is near the top of the charts in all benchmarks we ran in our labs, and WDs recent decision to grant the retail SE16 drive series a 3...

  • The benchmarks speak for themselves: Western Digital took the winning Caviar SE16 formula, added perpendicular recording, and created a huge, yet speedy 7200RPM hard drive in the form of the WD7500AAKS. We took special note of how much better Western ...

  • Abstract:  If an updates needed to the old Ben Franklin adage, let us be the first to suggest that it be reworded to "nothing is certain but death, taxes, and hard drive capacity increases." Yes, with practically every new season, we need yet another new plateau in...

  • Fast; lower power usage; tech built in to increase reliability; good price.
  • Not the largest capacity drive available.
  • Western Digital finally moves to PMR with its Caviar SE16 line of drives. Offering good performance in a 7200RPM drive, the price is also right. ...
