The editors liked

  • Excellent packaging
  • Good looks
  • 60 Macro keys
  • Cherry Black MX switches
  • Partial backlighting
  • Heavy
  • Won't budge a bit on your desk
  • Solid build
  • Twoport USB hub and audio in/out for VERY occasional use.
  • Built like a tank
  • Macro system will prove useful for MMORPG gamers
  • No corners cut
  • Quality in all areas
  • One of the best gaming keyboards on the market

The editors didn't like

  • Flimsy palm rest clips
  • Rigid/firm plastics used
  • Confusing software
  • Not much backlighting
  • Audio in/out very bad quality!
  • Noisy keys
  • No highfrequency alternate character keying like genuine gaming keyboards
  • Not ideal for serious typing or work related duties
  • Would be nice if the whole keyboard could light up
  • Kitguru says
  • A great hardcore gaming keyboard
  • But if you don't like MX Black Switches then look elsewhere
  • This won't change your opinion

  • I do really like this keyboard now I have been using it a while, the keys have quite a bit of travel on them but at the same time they are quite sensitive you don't need to push them right down to base for them to work, apart from the little niggle I had ...

  • Abstract:  How many keystrokes do you log in a given day? Thousands? Tens of thousands? If you spend all day at a computer or use one for both work and pleasure, the total might be even higher. PC users spend a lot of hands-on time with their keyboards, so it's wort...

  • Though I had a few grumbles about the Meka G Unit, they can't stand to cast a shadow over an otherwise great mechanical keyboard. Despite a small plastic malfunction, Thermaltake has invested in several quality-assuring features. The software complimen...

  • Overall, the Thermaltake MEKA G-UNIT is a great keyboard with a humorous name at a decent expected price. Other than a few issues that are simply a matter of personal preference, this keyboard has everything a user could want from a mechanical gaming k...

  • The advanced anti ghosting features really do work as promised, The keyboard has a very sleek and refined look, The cherry black switches are simply a dream to work with
  • The detachable wrist rest could use some design improvement, No hand cooling fan is noticeable if you've used one for a while, Illumination is only white, and only in specific areas
  • The Meka G-Unit is an amazing keyboard that will surely be a welcome addition to any gamers reperto...

  • Superior Construction, Modest Backlighting, 12 Dedicated Macro Keys, One Button Disables Windows Key, Quick Response Time, Dedicated Multimedia Keys, Cherry MX Black Switches, Launch Any EXE File with Macro Key, USB and Audio Ports,
  • Somewhat Limited Software, Slightly Adjusted Key Layout, Bright LEDs on Caps, Scroll and Num Locks, Not Cherry MX Blue Switches
  • The layout of the MEKA G-Unit is just different enough from a standard keyboard that my error rate went up slightly, especially on capitalization (long caps lock) and question marks (short right-shift). I also found due to the mechanical switch type (...

  • Well built – zombie killer for sure, Mechanical switches – this version is obviously reds, but there are other GUnits!, Builtin audio is LOUD!
  • Price – little high for partially lit mechanical, Can't turn off the Thermaltake logo (red pulsing Tt)
  • Overall the MEKA G-Unit Red Switch Edition Mechanical Keyboard from Thermaltake's branch of ESPORTS gear was not too bad. I won't say it was one of my favorite keyboards that I've used but honestly that goes back to the fact that I hate Reds. This keyboar...
