The editors liked

  • State of the art for netbooks
  • The dual-core Atom speeds up apps when you do several things at once
  • USB 3 is a definite speed up
  • The battery life is good and the matte screen has excellent viewing angles and no glare
  • Nicely contrasted matte panel
  • 1072
  • 1!
  • Wide touchpad nice to use
  • Comfortable keyboard
  • Quiet
  • Well cooled

The editors didn't like

  • The case size means the keyboard is cramped and the screen resolution is frankly disappointing
  • Plus the video performance isn't really up to 720p video
  • Garish glossy plastics
  • Webcam just about ok
  • Ctrl
  • Shift and arrow keys too small

  • The Asus Eee PC 1015PEM netbook sells for a price of £301. It's definitely not the cheapest netbook out there, but it's hardly expensive. The Eee PC 1015PEM packs in a dual-core Atom N550 processor and comes with some noteworthy features such as onlin...

  • Dual-core processor, Sturdy keyboard, Decent price-performance ratio
  • Finicky touch pad, Low 3D scores, Video streaming stutters
  • With several improvements over its predecessor, including a dual-core processor and a lower price, this 10.1-inch netbook is a suitable supplement to a full-size laptop. ...

  • Long battery life; dual-core Atom processor offers better multitasking speeds; cost for a dual-core Atom configuration isn't much more than for the single-core alternative
  • Cramped keyboard, streaming full-screen videos don't look much better than on single-core Atom Netbooks, lacks HD screen and HD accelerated graphics
  • For only a slight price increase over its single-core cousins, the Asus Eee PC 1015PEM's dual-core Atom CPU handles multitasking better, but this Netbook doesn't offer the features or performance we've seen in higher-priced "premium" alternatives.

  • Intel Atom N550 dual core, Design, workmanship, haptics, Chiclet keyboard and large touchpad, Good, matt display, Office performance, Quiet and efficient cooling system, Start price
  • Expandability, Moderate scope of delivery, Connectivity, Poor loudspeakers
  • The Asus Eee PC 1015PEM leaves a good impression. However, life on the fast track won't be possible with it. The new Intel Atom N550 accelerates simple office tasks and Windows 7 Starter's performance noticeably. But it doesn't supply more performance for...
