  • Sleek, versatile design, Comfortable soft-touch deck, Sharp QHD screen, Strong battery life, Solid performance
  • Flat keyboard is uncomfortable, Heavy as a tablet, Awkward power button placement
  • The Dell XPS 11 is an attractive, flexible hybrid with solid performance, but the uncomfortable flat keyboard is a deal breaker....

  • The Dell XPS 11 is a slim, light hybrid that looks and feels great, and offers decent performance and battery life
  • The touch-style keyboard, lacking actual keys, is an experiment that just doesn't pan out
  • Attempting to out-Yoga the Yoga, Dell's flip-screen XPS 11 has a great design, but isn't as practical as other hybrids for actually getting work done thanks to a frustrating keyboard.

  • Abstract:  Lisa Gade reviews the Dell XPS 11 2-in-1 Windows 8.1 Ultrabook and tablet. The XPS 11 has a very high resolution 11.6″ Sharp IGZO touch screen (2560 x 1440) and it weighs just 2.5 pounds. It competes with the Lenovo Yoga 11, Sony Vaio Tap 11 and Surface P...

  • Attractive carbon fiber body, Stunning, sharp display, Pinpoint touchscreen
  • Scratchprone finish, Aggravating keyboard, Integrated graphics chug
  • Dell set out to make a tablet device first that could convert into a laptop when users needed it, and it has succeeded, partially, with the XPS 11. Last year, the Dell XPS 12 turned heads with its unorthodox screen-swiveling design. This new hybrid lapto...

  • It doesn't get much more mobile than this, which is even more impressive when you consider the 2560 x 1440 screen
  • The touch keyboard needs to be improved, as it often fails to register key presses
  • The keyboard will make or break this hybrid laptop for most users; love it and the XPS 11 becomes a very attractive device. Loathe it and you won't want to go near it....

  • Good build quality, Decent battery life, Multiple usage modes
  • Touch keyboard not easy to use, Pricey
  • Just like the very thin and light Sony Tap 11, the Dell XPS 11 runs on an Intel Core Y-series processor, unlike regular Ultrabooks that typically run U-series processors. The benefit of using a Y-series processor is that it's extremely power efficient, wh...

  • Dell's solution is a touch keyboard that is almost completely flat. Each key is raised only fractionally and does not travel when struck
  • The only feedback is in the form of a clicking sound. But the sound lags behind the keystrokes and so ends up being more annoying than useful
  • Dell's attempt at a hybrid PC is excellent if you can adapt to its touch keyboard. However, for most users, I believe it would be a deal-breaker....
