The editors liked

  • Two years running
  • The HP Spectre x360 offers incredible value for the money. Its slim
  • Premium aluminum frame houses a speedy processor
  • Comfortable keyboard and touchpad
  • Plenty of full-size ports
  • A beautiful touchscreen and a surprising amount of batt
  • The new HP Spectre x360 is a durable
  • Stylish and light machine with a comfortable keyboard
  • Touchpad
  • Long battery life and a crisp backflipping touchscreen. Extras include excellent speakers
  • USB-C charging and Windows Hello face login
  • Excellent screen
  • With great colors and clarity
  • Great keyboard and trackpad
  • Windows Hello camera is a nice touch
  • Quad speakers that sound great
  • Excellent build quality
  • Thinner and lighter design than last year

The editors didn't like

  • While attractive
  • It's a little chunkier than some of the competition. The glossy screen can generate distracting reflections -- the price you pay for touch -- and the 15-inch model's speakers sound muddy
  • Only one full-size USB port. No HDMI output or SD card slot. The fan is noisy and spins up frequently. The size tradeoff doesn't justify the missing features
  • Small feet on palm rest might lead to scratches in presentation mode
  • Poor keyboard contrast
  • No digitizer and pen support anymore
  • Gets hot under load

  • Distinct, modern design, World's thinnest laptop (and lightweight too), Comfortable keyboard, Fast performance for a machine in this class, Chassis doesn't overheat, Reasonable starting price compared to the competition
  • Fan can get noisy, Jumpy trackpad, Non-touch screen with lower resolution than rival machines, Faster processor means a dip in battery life compared to competing systems
  • In the pursuit of building the world's thinnest laptop, HP both improved on its rivals while also introducing a different set of trade-offs. Hardware I imagine the Spectre 13's design will be polarizing: Some will love it and others will hate it...

  • The HP Spectre 13-W010CA has been designed from the ground up to be a perfect travel companion and HP has done a recently nice job of making it light and mobile starting with the feather like weight of just 1.44 Kg. Not only is it light but it is extremel
  • When looking at performance one would expect plenty out of the HP Spectre 13-W010CA due to the high end price tag but they might be surprised by what is actually inside. Now this isn't budget hardware but the Intel Core i5 and 8 GB memory isn't overly imp
