  • The Chumby is an adaptable, fun, wireless multimedia device made to bring bite-size Web widgets and streaming Internet radio into your home.
  • The Chumbys versatile features paradoxically make it hard to figure just what to do with it. The required power adapter limits its portability. If your home lacks Wi-Fi, then the Chumby is just a cuddly brick.
  • Whether you use it as a digital photo frame, Internet radio receiver, an advanced alarm clock, or some Web 2.0 task of your own devising, the Chumby is an extremely fun tech toy for the wired, modern home.

  • Streams internet radio, or music from your iPod or USB drive. Interspersed ads are unobtrusive. Soft and pretty. Highconcept idea executed extremely well
  • Touchscreen is finicky. Limited widget scheduling, so daily content gets repetitive. Power adapter connection makes Chumby cuddletime awkward

  • Easy to use, very capable hardware, open-source hardware and software, extremely hackable and expandable
  • Low resolution screen, touch screen is slightly unresponsive
  • There’s room for improvement but the Chumby is a very capable device in its own right. However, software and hardware hacks from users will make the Chumby all the more fun and useful. ...
