This probably sounds obvious
But the iPad mini really is mini. So much so that you can hold it with one hand. This is true of its seven inch rivals as well as the iPad mini
But it’s still worth bearing in mind
A 7.9-inch iPad is much smaller compared to a 9.7-inch iPad than it sounds in paper. Close to half the size
In fact.This
Combined with Apple’s epic design
Makes it a truly lustworthy
Like the iPad
But easier to handle
Beautifully built
Battery life is impressive

Lighter & more portable

We could grumble at the lack of Retina Display
The iPad mini’s display packs in the same 1024x768 pixels as the original 2010 iPad
And purists will spot the extra grain and fuzz around the edge of text. But HD movies still look great
And the portability more than makes up for those rough edges and visible pixels. Your technophobic family certainly won’t spot them
They’ll be too busy playing A
No Retina Display means a lack of detail
Expensive compared to the Nexus 7
Ageing processor
Relatively low resolution screen
Not as good value as competing tablets
Lower screen resolution and CPU horsepower than we would expect
Very light, excellent text rendering, highly portable
Low quality display lacking HD resolution
In some ways, I found it a better companion than its bigger 9.7-inch siblings which will remain at my home study or bedside table. I'll be using it to write (via handwriting app) notes, view movies and TV programmes and surf the Web.If you are looking for...
So here's the deal. I own both a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone and a Retina iPad 3, so I consider myself both an iOS user and an Android user, and thus relatively unbiased.By happy chance, I was traveling in the US when both the iPad Mini and the 32GB Nexus 7 (...

So what's the final verdict? Well like what we said at the start, the iPad Mini is really a small iPad 2… and that's not a bad thing. Other than the poor resolution and the expensive price (7-inch Android tablets sell for much less), I think most of my gr...
