  • Abstract:  Last year, I had the opportunity to go hands-on with the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, and thought it was an excellent system – offering performance, great battery life, an amazing screen and both tablet and laptop capabilities in a single system. But with pri...

  • Excellent metal design includes a kickstand and fullsized USB port. Generally good performance from Atom SoC. Type Cover and Surface Pen are great accessories that make the Surface 3 a versatile device. Windows 10 should make this an even better product.
  • Type Cover is not included and is sold as an expensive (yet musthave) $130 accessory. Not great as a laptop. Battery life is somewhat disappointing.

  • Flexible use modes  Gorgeous design, Great build quality, Topnotch 1080p display
  • Subpar Storage performance, Pricey with extras, Type Cover's cramped trackpad
  • Microsoft's Surface 3 is a tough one to judge. For starters, the operating system onboard at the time of this review won't be the one that most buyers see. In a few weeks, Windows 10 will make its debut, sliding right atop Windows 8.1 as a free upgrade. W...

  • The Surface 3 is a beautiful device, it takes a lot of what made the Surface Pro 3 great, and offers it at a fraction of the price. Can it replace the iPad as a media consumption tablet? Yes, but just barely. Modern, touch-friendly apps are aplenty, but d...

  • Abstract:  Microsoft's first two generations of the Surface 2-in-1 were intriguing enough, but they were also pretty compromised. And though the Surface Pro 3 was a huge leap forward, at nearly US$1,000, it also isn't the cheapest device around. That brings us to Mi...

  • In the Windows space, there is quite a bit of variety in tablets. Some are well under $100, and some go over $1000. In this space, the Surface Pro 3 has done very well, establishing a name for itself with good performance in a small form factor. Microsoft...
