Microsoft’s touch keyboard cover is a masterful piece of work. It’s wafer thin but you can pick up a quick pace on it with a bit of practice on it. If you’ve got a regular train commute where you can nab a table
It’s a great way to plow through your emails in the morning. The physic

The editors didn't like
Some clunky software installed. Limited thirdparty software
Interface controls are awful
Meagre app ecosystem
Slow app load speed
Camera poor compared to competitors
Not lap-friendly
Slow loading times
Lack of apps
The Microsoft Surface looks gorgeous in press images. Up close
It’s another matter
For one
It’s not nearly as thin as it looks. Much more of an issue is the aspect ratio
With an 10.6-inch screen (that’s not nearly as sharp as a new iPad or the Google Nexus 10’s display) it’s extremely wide
And added to the bulk
This makes it all but impossible to use in portrait mode. That’s a real shame
A
Poor selection of apps
Not the most intuitive experience
Can be slow to respond
Very few apps to start with
Dull design
Not cheap
Sluggish browsing
Desktop mode is confusing
App ecosystem is lacking
Limited 1
366x768 display resolution
Touch Cover is a £100 optional extra
Will soon be up against the Surface Pro
No GPS or 3G connectivity
Has firstgeneration bugs
Rather weighty and chunky
Odd Windows quirks
Small choice of apps.
Chunky
Hefty build
Windows 8 quirks and lack of apps
Split personality OS
No Retina display
Standard display
Heavier than iPad 4
Sluggish graphical performance
Screen definition / Very new OS (lack of content)
Modern UI control gestures aren't always that intuitive

The Surface is instantly more charming than any Windows device thATT#39;s come before it. It's nearly the perfect size, and the form is almost beyond reproach. If you want a tablet, use it like a tablet. If you want a laptop, use it like a laptop. Both modes
We're not there yet. Surface is a fantastic promise, and holds fantastic potential. But while potential is worth your attention, it's not worth your paycheck. Surface RT gets so many things right, and pulls so many good things together into one package. B
No. The Surface, with an obligatory Touch Cover, is $600. Thats a lot of money. Especially given that its no laptop replacement, no matter how it looks or what Microsoft says. Its a tablet-plus, priced right alongside the iPad and in most ways inferior...

Abstract: Ah, the Surface RT. The slate that is essentially Microsoft showing its partners how to make a Windows 8 (or in this case, RT) device. And they've certainly done their homework, leaving nothing to chance, from its VaporMg outer shell to the kickstand that...

The Microsoft Surface got me deeply rooted into the Microsoft ecosystem. Because of my Surface (and my Lumia), OneDrive (then SkyDrive) is now an indispensible part of my life. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with my Surface, though it's getting old and pain...
Great design and handling, Good overall performance, One of the best optional portable keyboard addon units
Hefty, Slight learning curve for Windows UI, Limited apps on Windows Store
The Surface with Windows RT is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core 1.3GHz processor and 2GB RAM. Aside from the different operating system, the Surface can be considered in the same league as the latest crop of Android tablets. As such, we will be compa...

Abstract: There's something disorienting about using Microsoft's Surface RT for the first time if you're used to using Windows 8 on anything larger than a tablet. The experience has such a Zen-like simplicity and inevitability to it that one doesn't expect to see t...
