  • Poor tools for communicating with friends online
  • Some legacy tracks don't hold up to new ones
  • Battle mode is a letdown
  • Online multiplayer can't possibly live up to the fun created through local matches thanks to Nintendo's community policies

  • the maps are essentially the same as double dash with on a few minor distinctions but somehow, The Mario Kart 8 developers have managed to make them feel like a whole new experience altogether despite my brain telling me I'm playing the same map I did 11...

  • Abstract:  This new mechanic gives the track designers great scope to create courses like which we have never seen in Mario Kart history, with some courses leaving you amazed how they thought of these designs. However, anti-gravity doesn't really do much else to cha...

  • Abstract:  Samsung Galaxy S4 5" Smartphone [Sprint]I hate racing games. In the purest kind of “it's not you, it's me” way, I have always hated racing games. I'm not very good at them, which makes sense since I'm not a very good driver in real life either. When I was...

  • Like I said, my gripes and complaints are rather minor. I realize that Battle Mode's gimping is a deal breaker for a select few, but most Mario Kart fans rightfully place most weight in the racing. The racing here is very good. The karts drive differently...

  • Mario Kart 8 is a great reason to own a Wii U. As fun as titles like Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty and Halo are, none of them can compare to the pure unadulterated glee Mario Kart provides. Mario Kart 8 is a joy to play, gorgeous to look at, and guarant...

  • Abstract:  There is great pleasure in the perfect powerslide around a corner, shooting out of the bend with a speed boost as your reward. Bumps and ramps also provide opportunities for speed-boosting stunts, while shortcuts can provide a further edge on opponents bu...

  • Nintendo says it plans to push the GamePad more as a defining feature of Wii U games, and frankly, Mario Kart 8 doesn't do much interesting there—nor does it mess with the usual play modes and cup-based structure we've experienced time and again. It's Mar...
