  • Entire campaign is cooperative if you want it to be
  • Nice blend of strategic gameplay
  • A crazy number of playable characters
  • Does a great job of adapting Fire Emblem to a new template
  • Upgrade system is hugely expansive
  • Runs great on Switch
  • Makes good use of a couple of Fire Emblem ideas

The editors didn't like

  • Feels very samey quite quickly
  • Die-hard Fire Emblem fans may want something more structured
  • Story is dry and predictable
  • History Mode could have been better

  • Plays to the series' strengths, Art style translates really well, Plenty of fan service
  • Wonky story, Underlying game play can still grow stale

  • Innovations help distinguish it from other Dynasty Warriors games, Feels like Fire Emblem, Lots of content
  • Unbalanced roster choices, Questionable DLC practices, Co-op sometimes has frame drops
  • Fire Emblem Warriors is a very fun game marred by a only few issues, some of which were probably unavoidable. The basic hack-and-slash gameplay is as solid and polished as any Warriors game, and the new innovations based on the Fire Emblem series add a lo...

  • The malleable quality of Fire Emblem's weapons-triangle and pairing systems make them a natural fit for the hack n' slash genre. Even when I could barely tell what was going on on the crowded battlefield and my troops were a little too codependent, I enjo...

  • Combat is flashy and fun, managing troops rules, good use of the weapon triangle. It feels heroic,
  • Some of the systems are watered down, support conversations are limited, the endgame is grindy, Developer

  • History Mode is just the right size, Killing mooks never gets old, Plenty of options for adjusting difficulty
  • Lacks character variety, Predictable story, Some mechanics easily ignored

  • Slightly above average or simply inoffensive. Fans of the genre should enjoy it a bit, but a fair few will be left unfulfilled. How we score:  The destructoid reviews guide...

  • Full Switch game, on 3DS, Map on second screen
  • No 3D capabilities, Very lowpoly characters, Everything looks worse than on Switch
  • Fire Emblem Warriors on 3DS isn't a bad experience at all, but any gamer with the option of purchasing the Switch version instead would be foolish to pick this up. The lower character count, vastly downgraded graphics and less ergonomic design of the 3DS...

  • Some good adaptation of Fire Emblem mechanics, Performance/Quality Mode option, Expansive History Mode
  • Forgettable story, Poor framerate and character count in split screen
  • Despite all the complaints though, I can't help but recommend Fire Emblem Warriors to Warriors fans. If you enjoyed Hyrule Warriors, you'll enjoy this just as much, and if you're not really a Warriors fan, then this probably won't convince you, even if yo...

  • Effortless combat offers pleasing showcases of strength and heroism, Familiar Fire Emblem characters are shown in a new and exciting light
  • Frustrating performance issues, Poor AI sullies your ability to command and rely upon your team, Roster lacks iconic (and expected) Fire Emblem heroes, Fails to take full advantage of Fire Emblem's unique contributions
