The editors liked

  • New Virtual Pro options
  • Plays an excellent game of football
  • So many little touches
  • 360 degree dribbling (it's the best thing to happen to footie games in years)
  • The amazing presentation and fluid animation
  • Slotting an elegant finesse shot past a goalie
  • • Most realistic Football simulation to date
  • • 360 dribble system makes manoeuvring more fluid and believable than ever
  • • Much needed practice modes finally added into this instalment
  • • Variety of modes to keep you busy both online and offline

The editors didn't like

  • Achievements/trophies heavily based on last year's offerings
  • Hull finishing above you in Manager Mode
  • Corners are really hard to score from
  • EA turning players into samesized clones
  • • Jumbled menu
  • • Fans who enjoy playing manager mode won't be pleased with the many bugs within the mode
  • • Live Season 2.0 updates aren't free

  • Abstract:  Making a sports game shine year in and year out is tough. Amazingly, EA has a stable of developers including EA Tiburon and EA Canada that consistently put out not only a top-quality product, but one that's even better than last year's. Sure, there ar...

  • New AI, physics, 360 degree dribbling and all sorts of new content; Tons of value and replayability. Feels much more fluid and responsive than last year's title.
  • Not too much to say here; The passing mechanic could use some slight tweaking, but it's hardly worth mentioning.

  • Abstract:  Back in the early 1990's I became obsessed by a PC football game called European Championship 1992 from Tecmo. I'd rush home from school each day and play it for hours at a time until I had a mastery of it that none of my friends could match. I loved t...

  • Abstract:  What we will say for the purposes of this review is that times have changed. FIFA has steadily flourished into a valid contender to PES’ firmly held crown in the gameplay stakes. EA really started gaining ground with FIFA 08, the follow-up closing the ...
