  • Colorful visuals; Badge system is deep and fun to tinker with; timed button presses takes some of the bore out of turn-based battling.
  • Kiddie, predictable story and characters; game is too easy.
  • Paper Mario may be tailored towards the 10 and under crowd, but its interesting battles and Badge system still make it a fun RPG.

  • Now being honest with ourselves, we don’t buy Mario games for hi-def graphics or realistic sound effects. We buy Mario games because they are classics, a great story of good versus evil. They never fail to keep us entertained for hours and hours, an...

  • Unique blend of role-playing and platforming; clever, funny dialogue.
  • Dialogue drags on too often; 3D world is barren and difficult to control.
  • The new gameplay style may come as a shock to some, but it still makes for an exceptional Mario game.

  • Abstract:  The Mario franchise has seen such a wide variety of games in its 20-plus years of existence. Our first exposure to Mario came in the form of him doing battle with a giant monkey in the Donkey Kong series. Sure, we didnt know him as Mario at that poin...

  • Abstract:  I can imagine people going to the gaming store, picking up a copy of Super Paper Mario, and putting it back down in disgust. Many people are tired of Nintendo rehashing the same characters and concepts across their in...

  • Abstract:  For many Wii owners, a long drought of quality games has plagued their leisure time as their shiny new white console gathers dust on a shelf. That drought has ended since Nintendo has shipped out “Super Paper Mario,” the latest installment in the Mari...

  • Abstract:  When first announced, I think just about every Nintendo and Mario fan was elated with the fact that the Paper Mario franchise would be making its way over to the Wii. After a bunch of rumors, screenshots, movies and other teases, Super Paper Mario has...

  • Abstract:  If you want a return to the Mario of your youth, Super Paper Mario is the game for you. There’s an awful lot of text in the early going, where you learn why Mario is off to save Princess Peach again. It seems there’s some sort of parallel univ...

  • Abstract:  What would you do if you had the chance to revisit a forgotten land? What if you could hop into a time machine, jump back to the 80s, and explore an old dimension in way you never thought possible? Would you expect a bit of nostalgia? Or would the land...

  • Clean visuals; great music; cool blend of RPG and action elements; funny story.
  • A little on the easy side; not much replay value.
  • With its unique blend of classic 2D-style platforming and RPG-style progression, Super Paper Mario becomes the first game for the Wii to feature our favorite Italian plumber. Its a lot of fun, its fast-paced and relatively easy, and more importantly,...
