DOOM is by far one of the better XBLA titles available on the 360. While I don’t mind flashing back to the coin-ops titles of the 80’s I can much more relate to games from the 90’s, and it will be games like DOOM that will find their bes...
Frantic, fast-paced action; great sound effects and "classic" graphics; online co-op is wicked fun; scads of secrets to discover; Achievement Points are a welcome addition.
Widescreen support would have been nice; creating a private match is clunky.
DOOM for Xbox 360 is a must-have classic. If you consider yourself a shooter fan, you simply must get this game.
It could have been little more than an empty exercise in nostalgia for the thirtysomething crowd. Thankfully, Doom manages to blend in just enough 21st century tweaks to appeal to the kind of Modern Warfare-raised whippersnapper who thinks “shareware”...
