The editors liked

  • Albion and its inhabitants feel very real
  • Genuinely tough decision making
  • The best Fable yet
  • Thoroughly entertaining quests
  • More elegant RPG systems
  • Choices with consequence
  • Probably the best writing and acting in games right now
  • It's big
  • Funny and clever
  • It will seriously put you through the emotional wringer
  • Highly playable
  • Simple to get the hang of
  • Fantastic production values and bags of addictive fun
  • Improves on all niggles from previuos game
  • Excellent production values
  • Well worth the wait

The editors didn't like

  • Slightly repetitive combat
  • Over too quickly for casuals
  • Needs more King quests
  • Easy to stumble into game-ruining ending
  • It's technically a bit shaky in places
  • The story climax feels a little rushed
  • Some less combatdriven quests would have been nice
  • Not wildly different to Fable 2 and a little on the linear side
  • More story based gameplay
  • So more linear than previous game

  • Merged action/adventure plot-points, excessive customization, side quests, morality system, menu system, overall design Needs Improvement: Gameplay formula, firefights and sword combat, disconnected locations, lack of leveling system PC Version Note:

  • Abstract:  Tweet this!In Fable III the player takes control of the son or daughter of the Hero from Fable II. You’re not the only offspring however as your brother took control of the throne to “Albion”, the country where much of Fable III‘s adventures take place...

  • Fable III is a good solid game if you like this sort of experience. If you have enjoyed the previous entries you should enjoy this one. If you haven’t you probably won’t like this one either. There isn’t a lot of innovation this time around but what th...

  • Abstract:  In development for just over two years is Fable III. It has been six years since the original came out in 2004. Lionhead Studios has had some time to tweak the franchise they're most known for. So grab your sword, fireball spell and possibly even your ...

  • Abstract:  'Jumping the shark' is a term that gets thrown around all too often nowadays, but sometimes it's simply the best way to explain what's happened to a once successful entertainment franchise. And if Fable III is not quite there yet, it's certainly eying ...

  • Abstract:  Fifty years have passed since you and your unnamed Hero last saved Albion. The current king isn't terribly popular (did anyone else notice the proximity of Fable III's release date to election day?), which sets up the story in seemingly familiar territ...

  • A fun, entertaining, innovative move for the RPG series, with some beautiful moments, great story and brilliant voice acting.
  • Did not live up to its hype. Can be buggy, frustrating at times and everything that’s good seems to have a bad point.

  • Abstract:  As good as Fable II was, it wasn’t the experience we were told we’d get. With a severely limited online element and fewer customization options than were promised, the finished product was less robust than what many fans expected. Fable III, with the...
