Reference quality sound that few headphones at any price can match.Liquid sounding midrange that infuses vocals with great resolve and soul. Warm, punchy bass that gives rock music a very solid foundation. Comfortable to wear for many hours.
With such high quality, comes a steep price. Slightly laid back presentation may not be to everyone's liking. Warmer tonal balance masks some inner detail and softens the top end. Requires a good source to really sound its best.
One of the top headphones we have ever tried and is ultimately worth every penny if you listen to it through a headphone amplifier and value hearing music as well as it can be reproduced. Not as detailed as the AKG K 701s, but as good as it gets....

Sennheisers flagship headphones have high-tech styling, extraordinary bass response, and an extremely comfortable design.
Theyre heavy and very pricey, not to mention ill suited for use with the iPod.

Abstract: Sennheiser HD 650Weve strayed to the top end of Audiophile land and encountered something quite special. The HD650 headphones from Sennheiser managed to reveal new elements of tracks wed listened too hundreds of times and that quite some feat!
