  • Abstract:  “When the folks at Audioengine offered to send me their new A2 powered speaker system for review I have to admit that I hesitated for a couple of days in saying yes. In photos the A2’s looked very similar to the company’s larger, more ex...

  • Abstract:  In our review of Audioengines AW1 wireless audio adapter, we tipped our hand a bit: our interest in Audioengines products started with the idea of setting up wireless surround channels. Lets face it: nobody likes fugly wires running along the basebo...

  • Amazing lowend frequency response from very small boxes; Kevlar woofers and silk drivers; MDF cabinets.
  • Lacks two of the best features found on the Audioengine A5; amp is adequate only for nearfield listening or small rooms.

  • Abstract:  Typically with home computer speakers you have two speakers and a subwoofer sitting on your desk and the floor. Sometimes this combination can take up quite a bit of room depending on the speakers, but today, that’s about to change with the Audioeng...

  • There are many ways to spend $200, say a night out with friends for a modestly priced meal. But if you want your iPod to sound better than it ever has or if you wan’t to chuck those wimpy speakers that came with your PC and dress up your desktop with a...

  • Abstract:  Audioengine 2 powered loudspeaker: I also wondered how well the Audioengines could soundstage. Theyre not exactly matched, are they? One cabinet has a stereo amplifier in it, the other doesnt. One cabinet is internally hardwired, the other via a ca...

  • Great sound, small size, available in both black and white
  • No extras, such as remote, iPod docks, etc. make these a bit pricey given the competitive speaker market
  • The A2’s are a great choice for those looking for a space-saving home office/bedroom bookshelf system and who do not want to skimp on power. Unfortunately, due to the similarity in looks, the A2’s suffer a bit by the inevitable compa...

  • Abstract:  They are almost a quarter of the size. Very cute, its like a baby with its daddy. The A2s have been constructed similarly to the A5s, which means they don look and feel like a pair of $50 speakers that you can pick up at Target or CompUSA. These little g...

  • Abstract:  In July of 2006 my review of Audioengines A5 powered monitor caused quite a stir, as many discussion board members — after reading my review — bought a set and came away impressed. Fast-forwarding to about 2 months ago, Brady and Dave, yeah th...
