The editors liked

  • Clean
  • Warm sound
  • Great low-latency monitoring
  • More flexible than the first one
  • One of the bits we like the most about the Yeti Pro is its build quality
  • And it wouldn't look out of place among the most expensive recording equipment. Made almost entirely out of metal
  • With a heavy duty stand and foam base
  • It really is finished to a high standard. Along with a 5-pin XLR connection for hooking up a preamplifier
  • You can connect the Yeti Pro to your laptop
  • PC or Mac using a U
  • Excellent quality
  • Both USB and analogue audio capture
  • Multiple recording modes
  • Hugely versatile
  • Very good sound quality
  • Sturdily built

The editors didn't like

  • Not cheap if you don't need XLR
  • Offering excellent sound quality
  • A neat design and impressive materials
  • There really isn't anything to dislike about Blue's Yeti Pro. Just make sure your accompanying hardware is capable of keeping up.
  • Too heavy/bulky for portable use
  • 24-bit audio not essential for podcasters or online use
  • Large
  • Can take a bit of setting up

  • Choice of inputs as well as patterns in USB or XLR mode.   It's also very solidly built
  • What needs improvement: Would like it if I could use both outputs simultaneously

  • If you're looking for a mic for Skyping, podcasting, recording some music with Garageband, I'd highly recommend checking out the Yeti Pro. It's feature-packed, easy-to-use and quite a looker. And at about $230 online, though it's not cheap, I do think it'...

  • Beautiful, solid design, +Four pattern choices offer significant variety in pick-up options, +Simple to set-up, +Voice recording quality is excellent
  • This thing is huge. It is not at all portable, -The option to detach the Yeti Pro from its base stand and use it as a hand microphone would be nice. You can take it apart right now, but it isn't comfortable for hand use at all.
  • The Yeti Pro is a great old-school microphone with a ton of capability and a enough pick-up options to satisfy even the pickiest professionals. Amazon.com has it selling for $249, which is about what you'd expect for an audiophile-grade microphone. M...
