The editors didn't like

  • The iPod touch is too similar to the iPhone
  • Contrast and viewing angle are average
  • Not enough storage for some
  • Feels like a rush job
  • Limited storage capacity
  • Prone to fingerprints
  • Hoodies might mug you for it

  • Video isn’t as bright as iPhone
  • No external volume controls or support for remote control

  • The iPod touch is so similar to the iPhone that at first glance the two could be mistaken for one another. The real differences will become apparent in the future, but for the moment, this is a good-looking and intriguing product that will set tongues...

  • Fingerprints on the screen; limited memory if youre planning to watch a lot of video
  • For better or worse, the iPod touch is clearly the iPhones baby brother. Like most products that roll out of Apple, the touch shows the love of committed designers, hardware engineers and usability experts. While it may not be the slam dunk we were h...

  • Register Hardware wasnt excited by the new iPod Nano and the iPod Classic, but we like the iPod Touch. Its not perfect - the price is too high, and there are some niggles about its interaction with iTunes. But you cant help but be wowed by its grap...

  • Movies are simply delicious on the huge, 480 x 320 screen, and it doesnt get hot during playback. So featurepacked its almost a standalone computer.
  • Version 1.x owners have to pay for upgrade to OS 2.1. Battery life could be better, and 8 video playback stops when power dips below 10 percent.

  • Abstract:  The final component of the iPod Touch puzzle is iTunes. Of course, this is the connection between your computer and your iPod Touch. And I will admit that this is a big reason I put off purchasing an iPhone for so long. I have never been a fan of i...

  • Abstract:  Much as I grew to loathe the Apple Macs while at university, I have fallen for the iTouch faster than Romeo fell for Juliet. Having waited a long time and not bought one, my patience was rewarded by the release of the 32GB version, as the smaller memor...
