  • Abstract:  Altec Lansing InMotion IMV712 By John Virata The Altec Lansing InMotion IMV712 is a portable mini theater system for your iPod, MP3 player and any other device that supports composite and S-Video cables. Although the company touts the devices support...

  • Easy Setup, Large 8.5inch widescreen LCD Display, Great sound quality, Elegant looking, Can navigate iPod with the wireless remote, Can be used with other players, not just the iPod, SVideo output to TV
  • Sort of large for a portable system
  • I am really impressed with the iMV712. When I first saw it at CES in January I wanted to get my hands on one. I have seen other portable iPod devices with screens, but they more made more like the portable DVD players with flip up screens. That made t...

  • Abstract:  One question continued to arise as I was testing Altec Lansing’s inMotion iMV712 mini home theater system: what exactly is it? Is it another iPod boombox, this time with a video screen?Or is it a high-end home audio/video system?Would I listen to it...

  • Great sound. Very easy to use. Elegant, simple design. Works with other devices, besides the iPod.
  • LCD display quality was lacking. Remote is vital for some functions, but could be lost easily. Cannot mirror iPod menus.
  • As a speaker dock, the Altec Lansing iMV712 would be a fine choice. Its sound is clean and accurate, and it can provide enough volume, without distortion, and a nice bass kick to fill a room with sound. As a mini-theater, the device is somewhat puzz...

  • An all-in-one speaker and video screen accessory for the iPod, with a remote control, top-loading Universal iPod Dock, and more audio horsepower than current add-on display rivals.
  • equently, if you want iFlip’s screen to look more like iMV712’s for whatever reason, you can do it, but the same isn’t true about the Altec display. Both systems include user-adjustable 16:9/4:3 toggles for those who want to view u...

  • The Altec Lansing inMotion iMV712 mini home theater system features a built-in 8.5-inch LCD screen for viewing iPod videos; sound quality is quite decent in small rooms and the system plays loud; connectivity options include a line-in jack, a composite...
  • Fairly pricey; limited aspect ratio control; screen size still too small to be seen from a distance; strains to fill larger rooms with sound; the logos on the face are little too big and distracting; no AM/FM radio.
  • While its hard to say where Altec Lansings iMV712 mini home theater for the iPod fits into the home, it does up the ante for iPod speaker systems. Price range: $169.74 - $252.70

  • Well, the good news is that my iPod and I are speaking to each other again. It turns out that the Altec Lansing inMotion iMV712 was exactly what we needed, and more. The 8.5” high-definition LCD was a great addition and provided clear, crisp and smo...
