  • Plays back both HD DVDs and Blu-ray Discs 1080p screen resolution (in Blu-Ray and HD DVD playback) Easy to use Simplified remote
  • Does not have full HD DVD interactive menus and interoperability HDMI version 1.2a, not HDMI version 1.3 Pricey No 1080p upconversion Poor backlight on remote
  • LG has come under fire for its introduction of the dual-format high-definition optical disc player. Apparently, some folks are not happy that the player does not include all of the interactive features of a full-blown HD DVD player. I just dont get it...

  • Plays HD DVD and Blu-ray movies. Supports 1080p24 output via HDMI. Useful and well-crafted on-screen display.
  • Does not support interactive/online/graphical HD DVD features. Remote is missing a basic HD DVD navigation-control feature. Remotes backlight is essentially useless. No 1080p upconversion. No support for 1080p60 output.
  • LG delivers the first set-top player that supports HD DVD and Blu-ray movies. But the BH100s HD DVD support is limited to basic playback, as it lacks the formats interactive and online capabilities as well as support for enhanced menu features....

  • Abstract:  If, like me, youre not too thrilled about the current format war, youll be happy to know about the LG BH100 Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD player, a $1,200 combo model that can handle both formats. The company calls its unique, peacemaking machine Super Mul...

  • Plays back both HD DVD and Blu-ray discs; excellent image quality on both high-def disc formats; attractive design with touch-sensitive buttons; excellent remote; quick response during scans and chapter skips.
  • Expensive; no CD playback; subpar support for new surround soundtracks; does not support HDi interactive features of HD DVDs; only a few TVs cant accept its type of 1080p output; upscaling of DVDs is a step below competitors; load times are somewhat s...
  • The LG BH100 can play back both HD DVD and Blu-ray discs with excellent image quality, but a variety of quirks and missing features limits its appeal.

  • Abstract:  Going back to those heady days of wine, roses and Laserdiscs, the general public, if aware at all of LDs existence, would yawn and claim to be interested when a recordable LD is introduced. Of course that never happened and LD is currently residing i...

  • Abstract:  Blu-ray and HD DVD in one box. Well, no one saw this coming. We’re not that far into the format war between HD DVD and Blu-ray, and LG has come out with the BH100, a player that plays both formats. So, is that it? Format war over? Hardly. Drag It O...
