Abstract: All in all, the Samsung BD-P 1600 is an excellent - and cheap - Blu-ray player for entry-level users. The easy operation and speedy disc drive impressed, but the drive isn't exactly quiet, and photos play..
Abstract: Consumer High Definition televisions (HDTV) hit the market just over 10 years ago. The amount of data used for HD content takes up much greater space than that of Standard Definition (SD) content. From that need came Blu-ray discs (BD). Blu-rays name...
Surprisingly good video quality on an assortment of tough material, Effortless handling of a wide variety of stateoftheart features, Netflix online streaming sure is convenient
HDquality Netflix streaming easier said than done, Wireless networking is a can of worms, but why not just include a gig of flash memory so BDLive would work without a flash card?
Although positioned at the lower-end of their current crop, the Samsung BD-P1600 is still a versatile player offering the latest features (Netflix, Pandora, BD-Live, DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD decoding) and performance that the competition would be hard-...
Although the BD-P1600 isn't our favorite player there is a lot to like about it, and more importantly, it is an improvement over the BD-P1500. The best part is that even though it is better than last year's, you're going to pay less for it too. We real...
Fast start-up. Supports Netflix and Pandora multimedia streaming. Updated remote and menus.
Add-on memory required for BD-Live support. Minor BD Live compatibility issue.
The Samsung BD-P1600 is a capable Blu-ray player that features a compelling selection of multimedia streaming abilities....

The Samsung BD-P1600 produces very good images, and by Blu-ray standards it's as fast as lightning. But problems with upscaling DVDs and some unwise design decisions prevent it from being a great player....
Abstract: Video Review: Prices are dropping on Blu-ray players so now might be the time to grab yourself the Samsung P1600 which not only does movies in 1080p but also up-converts DVD, streams Netflix, and plays Pandora through the wi-fi adapter....

Excellent image quality on Blu-ray movies; Netflix and Pandora streaming; speedy load times and operational speed; Profile 2.0 compliant; onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio; Wi-Fi compatible, with purchase of USB dongle.
Design marred by an annoying flip-down panel; Wi-Fi dongle is very expensive.
The Samsung BD-P1600 has a great mix of features and performance for a standalone Blu-ray player, with only its annoying design holding it back.
