The Gear Fit's curved Super AMOLED display looks great

The Gear Fit has a forward-looking design

The editors didn't like
Limited functionality
Slim screen
The software is unforgivably bad. Tragically bad. It feels as if the Gear Fit and the S Health teams barely spoke to each other at all. Which is especially bedeviling since Samsung made the conscious choice to sell a wearable product that only works with
While Samsung has pretty much nailed the hardware
The software leaves a lot to be desired. It runs Samsung's own OS – not Tizen or Android – which means it can't use thirdparty apps. This really limits what it can do
The battery life is middling at best
Specifically pairs with Samsung S Health equipped smartphone (Galaxy S5) and doesn't do anything the phone can't do
Expensive
The long display means text reads awkwardly on your wrist. The Fit only works with certain Samsung phones. Can't load apps
So you're stuck with the features included. And the price is high
So much so that you might consider a cheaper alternative or the
Unresponsive screen
Unreliable heart-rate tracking
Awkward ergonomics
The exercise end of the equation is a let down. The coaching is unreliable and it doesn't provide much of a training platform outside of the device
Time display very unrealiable
Lacks GPS tracking
Can't see long texts
S Health app is not user friendly
Doesn't automatically detect sleep or excercise
Some Samsung device compatibility only
No auto brightness
Battery life not amazing
Fitness features limited
Lack of apps
Restricted to S Health (Samsung' s app) only
Accuracy questionable at times
No altimeter
Rarely displayed time when I wanted it to. No GPS tracking. Long texts not fully displayed. S Health is confusing
With too much going on. Cannot automatically detect exercise or sleep
Poor sleep tracking
Accuracy issues
Limited analytics
Fiddly charging component
Samsung handset lock-in
Pedometer accuracy
Bulk ruins sleep tracking
Heart rate monitor doesn't always work
No third-party apps
Poor battery life
Data-logging issues with S Health
Sleep tracking not very insightful
Heart rate sensor is temperamental
Long screen is awkward to use
Plastic strap is cheap
Charging dongle is awkward
Pedometer is inaccurate
Fitness features are half-baked
Limited to working with Samsung Galaxy devices only
Two to three day battery life
Not everyone will like the design
Needs a supported Samsung device
Requires two apps to use fully
Short battery life
Leather strap option would have been nice
No option to add thirdparty apps
No option to filter messages
Accelerator doesn't always activate screen when you move
If you're thinking if you should get the Samsung Gear 2 or the Samsung Gear Fit…What I LikeI think that Samsung has improved the usability (more apps, more device compatibility and counting) and usefulness (S Health and more apps) and simple interaction a...
Review: Samsung Gear FitReview by Andrew YewI haven't been sold on the whole smartwatch and wearables deal just yet, sticking to my analog watch (hey, it's a cool watch!). To me, I didn't need a wearable, though I do appreciate what they have to offer, li...
Comfortable, Nice and bright curved AMOLED display, Battery life, Easy to use, IP67 certified
Limited functionality, Accuracy, Narrow display is a little awkward, C
All in all, the Samsung Gear Fit is actually quite a commendable effort from the Korean giants. It looks fantastic and is very easy to use but unfortunately it just doesn't break any grounds in terms of being a smartwatch or fitness tracker.(previously p...
So the Samsung Gear Fit is a device that tries to be 3 separate things at the same time – a smart device, a fitness band, and also a watch. The reason why I don't consider the smart and watch together is because I think that the Gear Fit can also be a fas...
Good quality display, Good ergonomics with curved display and comfortable wrist band, Reliable Bluetooth connection, Great battery life, Easy to use operation
Fitness features isn't perfect, Not able to install 3rd party apps, Limited functionality and expensive price tag
The Samsung Gear Fit isn't a true smartwatch, it is merely a fitness tracking device with a beautiful display and connected with your smartphone to receive notifications. We are disappointed with the fact that the watch isn't able to serve us properly on...
Has a beautiful design and is well made, The promised accessories and personalisation options make the Gear Fit stand out
Lack of a built in memory completely killed this as a portable media player, Can't make or take phone calls as with Gear, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, The Gear 2 Neo, which has the same price, has more features: thirdparty apps, works as a standalone music play
The Samsung Gear Fit is priced the same as the Gear 2 Neo in US, which in my opinion is a better watch. Though you get a lot less features with the Gear Fit, it definitely is a much cooler toy. The Fit tries to do everything, and to a certain point it rea...

Beautiful curved display, Practical design, Comfortable to wear
Requires special adapter to charge, Exclusivity with Samsung devices, Limited app ecosystem, Inconsistent readings of heart rate sensor and pedometer
Did Samsung try too hard to build the perfect wearable device with fitness and smartwatch features, and ended up dropping the ball? Our answer is yes. While we applauded Samsung for doing a very respectable job in designing the Gear Fit, its overall propos...
