While the SmartBand Talk definitely looks to be an improvement on Sony's original lifestyle tracker, it's not really accurate enough to compete with the established players in this genre. Unlike Fitbit, Garmin and Jawbone, the level of recording or analys...
The e-paper screen looks slightly unusual, even a little dated at first, but it's a nifty idea when it comes to conserving battery. We like the design and would be happy to wear the device so we look forward to taking it our for a full test run.Sony Smart...
The Sony SmartBand talk represents an evolution for the brand - taking the idea of 'Lifelogging' to the next level through the ability to see what's going on with an e-paper display. It's a device that sits somewhere between a smartwatch and a fitness ban...

The Sony SmartBand Talk SWR30 is beautifully designed, comfortable to wear and succeeds on its namesake's aim to enable calls on your wrist too. But it doesn't quite thrill in any one department.For many that E Ink display, given its Kindle-like monochrom...
I like the SmartBand Talk, I think it's a decent bridge between fitness tracker and smartwatch however, there are a few oversights on Sony's part. For instance, the way you change the bands isn't very elegant and I wish that it was a little thinner. Still...

The SmartBand Talk's screen, waterproof design and ability to show your incoming notifications make it a useful piece of tech to wear, even if you're not fussed about keeping track of your activity during the day....
Slim and light, Decent battery life, Easy to set up and use, Waterproof
No Apple support, Pricey, Better dedicated fitness trackers
If you're an Android user after a simple-to-use wearable device, I'd definitely recommend checking out the Sony SmartBand Talk. Set-up is easy and it's blissfully intuitive to use, yet packs in some essential features such as media control and notificatio...
Very easy to see in sunlight; Light and comfortable to wear; Does some of the things a smartwatch would do, but on a budget; Three to four day battery life; Charges through microUSB, so no proprietary charger (woot!);
Electronic ink screen needs some Gorilla Glass or mineral strengthening, as it scratches easily; Waking alarm won't automatically detect when you're upright and moving, or even using your phone altogether, and continues buzzing regardless; Touchscreen req
Is Sony's SmartBand Talk an improvement on the original? Maybe, but it won't be for everyone, and Sony isn't helping the situation much with only one operating system supported, a small amount of touch interaction, and a screen that can barely take the mo...
