s The only real competitor to the Enterainer would seem to be the AppleTV, but this doesnt really do a service to either device as the technical differences are obvious but not deal-breakers in either case. On the hardware side, the AppleTV has faster...
Abstract: I suspected that sooner or later entertainment delivered by my cable modem, initially for the computer screen, would displace the time and premium dollars Id be spending on conventional cable channels. That day has arrived at the point in the chain w...
The EVA8000 is clearly an extremely capable media streaming system. Not only is it able to play HD video over a pretty sluggish 802.11g network – an impressive feat in its own right – but it can also be used to stream, listen to and display a large propor...

While its not as slick as Apple TV and its performance isnt flawless, the Netgear EVA8000s awesome array of features should delight tech-savvy digital media hounds.
Supports multiple video formats, Easily finds media content on your PC, Plays back YouTube videos, Internet radio support, HDMI port
Struggles with 1080p files, Basic setup mode is time-consuming, Remote is too small
In the not-too-distant future, all of our entertainment media will be digital. And eventually, well be able to store it all on the Internet. Until then, products such as the Netgear Digital Entertainer HD EVA8000 streaming set-top box do an adequate j...
Abstract: IntroIn 1999 when I cofounded Mediabolic, we had a vision of the “connected home” that we pitched all over the world. In 2000, I first started hearing (and using) the phrase “THIS is the year of the Digital Home” (yes, in all-caps)...
