The camera on the new iPod touch is still a touch disappointing. Stills top out at a maximum of 960×720
So you won't be replacing your cam with these just yet. And the fixed focus doesn’t help matters.The maximum capacity is a mere 64GB

Apple definitely needs to take the iPod touch camera to the gym three times a week for the next year in order to bulk up for a rematch. At the very least, the iPod touch needs to be prepared to take on new challengers ready to step into the square circle...
