  • Good build, compact, lightweight, sharp screen, optical trackpad, 3.5mm jack, 3MP AF camera, smoother OS, talktime, DivX & XviD support
  • No FM tuner, last row of keys smaller, missing accelerometer & compass, need to purchase document editor
  • The Blackberry Bold 9700 costs Rs. 31,990 (MRP) with a one-year warranty. Now this pricing may seem quite high but if you are an existing Blackberry user and are looking for an upgrade this has to be your choice. If you already own the older Bold 9000...

  • Excellent form factor. Razor-sharp screen. Good keyboard. Solid call quality.
  • Browser still needs help. Not a big jump up from earlier models.

  • No Maps for GPS, Still no Flash support for browser

  • Abstract:  When we reviewed the BlackBerry Bold 9000 we said it had everything a BlackBerry fan could want, except for maybe the more compact body of the Curve. And it's pretty obvious that someone over at RIM has been paying attention. They've done exactly that...

  • Sleeker design (compared with the earlier Bold) that includes an optical trackpad; 3.5mm headphone jack; brilliant display; 3G capable and Wi-Fi with UMA support; Bluetooth; GPS; faster processor and updates to BlackBerry OS 5.0.
  • BlackBerry browser doesn't compare to the competition; compact size results in a smaller display and keyboard, but they aren't deal-breakers.

  • Abstract:  Quite a lot of recent RIM's BlackBerry phones looked quite alike (Bold and the Curve) and it could mean one of two things — either RIM doesn’t have any more design ideas left or it has almost perfected the form factor that many people loved about the ...

  • The Bold 9700 is technically the best Blackberry at the moment. Wish it was sized a bit larger. The original Blackberry Bold 9000 was RIM’s flagship device when it was released about a year back. Soon after, the Curve 8900 followed with a higher-res...

  • Deal ClosureAs outlined in the previous pages, the Bold 9700 has both its ups and downs. If you focus upon its aesthetic nature, those who wished for a more compact and comfortable form factor will welcome the Bold 9700 with arms (or maybe hands) wide ope...
