HTC One M8 Smartphone Review
The HTC One was the best handset of 2013
As awarded at MWC 2014. It's also won numerous awards for having the best design so it only makes sense that HTC made the best even better! I've had this for a week now

So here’s what you need to know
The HTC One (M8) is the most beautiful Android phone ever made. No question. In fact
We’d go so far as to say that only Apple’s iPhone 5 and 5s are better looking - and they’re much smaller. The new one is wrapped in metal from screen edge to screen edge
And the slick brushed metal reminds us of Apple’s older iPod touch models
Only much more streamlined. Even t

Sharpest screen you've ever seen

Extra features like Blinkfeed and the second camera sensor are a revelation
The editors didn't like
Still a 4-megapixel camera with limitations
Large size won't suit all users
Ufocus bokeh effect is hit and miss
2GB RAM is a bit of a disappointment
Might be a bit large and unwieldy for some
Expensive (but then again all premium phones are!)
It's so similar to last year's One M8 that it's already old news. The camera is unable to balance exposure and it has inconsistent white balance
Screen suffers in sunlight and viewing angles are not the best
Camera is good but not best in class
Photos lack fine detail
Music could time better
Let’s talk problems with the HTC One (M8) - but let’s also make clear that we’re nitpicking. The main one we have is with the navigation buttons - last year’s HTC One sported two below the screen
Worked into the bezel
But this year’s model works in the more standard Home
Back and Multi-tasking onto the display itself. It’s easier to use
But here’s the thing - the bottom bezel remains just as
Camera poor in bright light
It's even bigger than last year's model
So small hands may feel the burn
Pictures lack detail
Body could have been shorter
Slippery in cold hands
Not everyone will like Sense 6
Resolution of rear snapper is lower than other phones
Dot View case is frustrating
Slippery when held with cold hands. Sense 6 isnt for everyone but a Google Play Edition M8 is also on the way. Rear camera resolution lower than most
Adds bulk
Not waterproof
No water resistance
Slippery grip could lead to dropping
Camera still can't match iPhone 5S
Only 16GB of internal storage
Uncomfortable power button placement
$650 price is double the Nexus 5
No fingerprint sensor/IP67 certification
Blinkfeed can be annoying
Average camera
Lacks wireless charging
On
Screen buttons can get in the way
Exposure and chroma noise issues in photos
Duo camera doesn't work perfectly
Camera doesn't match quality of rivals
HTC's dedication to UltraPixel means no 4K video recording
68GB of unremovable system software is unusually steep
A beautiful looking device that has a solid feel to it, Decent battery life, Beautiful display with great colour reproduction, Quick Charge option
Not exactly a comfortable device to handle with one hand, The capacity of the battery is not big enough, Power button placed at the top, The primary camera is not as good as I had hoped it to be, Missing optical image stabilisation, The secondary depth ca
The HTC One (M8) is an excellent device that is also well made. It's beautiful and attracts a lot of attention whenever I pull it out to use. In all, this is a phone anyone would want to fall in love and have a relationship with. Unfortunately, that is no...

With the HTC One (M8), HTC stuck to its guns and refined what it believed to be the best Android smartphone of 2013. In many ways, they succeeded: the new One improved upon almost every aspect that failed 2013's flagship. HTC packed the all-new One with t...
If you want an Android phone, the HTC One should be the first phone you consider. It looks and feels better than its closest Android competitors, and can handle all the stuff you care about.Still, if you're on the fence, you may want to hold out a few mor...
Abstract: HTC must have had a hard time keeping its new flagship smartphone, the One (M8), under wraps in the weeks leading up to today's launch as photos of the device, images of its official flip cases, hands-on video and its sales guide were leaked on the Intern...

The most powerful phone we've tested, Beautiful build and styling, Slick, fluid and flawless in operation, Fun and useful camera features
Won't stay top of the power charts for long
Chucking more of everything at your flagship phone seems an all-too easy way to get yourself to the top, but in HTC's defence it's not nearly as simple as it sounds. There's a careful balancing act to be achieved. A bigger screen requires more power, more ...
Abstract: One year ago, long-time Android handset maker HTC came up with the HTC One, a beautiful device with an aluminium back that was a standout against a sea of plastic handsets.Since then, no other phone maker, Android or otherwise, has managed to match this d...
Impressive performance, Beautiful design and build quality, Great display quality, Long battery life, Great audio quality, Very good camera performance, Android Kitkat out of the box, NFC and LTE connectivity, IR blaster
Gimmicky dual-camera system, Could be pricey (when it officially arrives)
Truth be told, we could not find any glaring flaws on the HTC One M8. It's got everything we've always wanted in a flagship handset — gorgeous design, solid build quality and material, blazing fast performance, and very good battery life.Of all the upgrad...
Solid, premium build; loud and clear BoomSound speakers; amazing front camera.
A little overweight; main camera is only fourmegapixels; heats up easily.
The One M8 definitely positions HTC as one of the front runners in the Android smartphone race. The smartphone has one of the nicest metal bodies and it's packed with features. The sharp screen and BoomSound speakers are great for watching movies on the g...
Unbelievably sexy, BoomSound speakers are loud, Display is flawless, Really comfortable to hold, Clean UI
Metal body causes the phone to heat up to the point of severe discomfort within minutes, Power button is located at the top, At maximum volume, music is heavily distorted, Camera is a measly 4 megapixels, Duo Camera is unnecessary, No Optical Image Stabil
The HTC One is a tremendous device. But is it really the one to rule them all? We don't think so. The camera is a massive let-down, and we were expecting better after the M7's camera performed poorly last year.Other than that, there are issues with the de...
