The editors liked

  • Badger spotting. It’s good
  • Clean fun for all the family but incredibly difficult with most cameraphones – they can’t handle the dark and there’s no way to get closer to all that earthworm-grubbing action. Welcome the G800

The editors didn't like

  • This is pretty much a one trick pony. There’s no Wi-Fi or GPS on board
  • Just a basic media player (although at least with stereo Bluetooth) and HTML-only browser. Plus
  • There’s Samsung’s usual anti-intuitive menus to mash your brain.
  • Chunky. Can struggle in low light. Weak flash. Lacks Wi-Fi
  • 3.5mm jack
  • Shutter lag
  • Chunky.
  • Restricted headphone options
  • Lack of Wi-Fi
  • Xenon flash isnt as bright as we expected
  • Bulky
  • Heavy
  • Video resolution only up to 320 x 240

  • Abstract:  Samsung has a reputation for pushing the boundaries of technology, particularly when it comes to its phones. The Samsung G800 is no exception. Packed with a multitude of features, this camera phone is likely to sell in droves. But is it as good or bett...

  • 5 MP camera is great and has some excellent features, such as optical zoom ,
  • No illumination on hardware keys may cause heartburn for some ,Phone is larger than many models on the market today , Lack of GPS and Wi-Fi support ,The video recording isn’t as great as might be expected from a 5 megapixel camera ,
  • While the Samsung G800 is a perfectly serviceable phone, there is nothing to help it stand out in the market other than the camera feature. Unless that is very important to you, chances are you can do just as well with something else. ...

  • Abstract:  The slider phones from Samsung easily fit in one’s pocket as it sports a thin profile despite being packed with features. This is not the case however, for its new cameraphone: the G800. While this 3G handset comes with a 5-megapixel sensor with 3x op...

  • HSDPA data speeds, Great colour display, Good battery life, 2GB microSD card included
  • Chunky, oversized handset, Underwhelming photo quality
  • Perhaps our hopes were too high, but then, the bulky frame of the G800 makes promises of quality that just arent evident in the photos it takes. Its definitely a step above the average camera phone, but several notches below other more consistently ...

  • Five-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom and face detect, solid chrome casing, HSDPA-capable, A2DP Bluetooth
  • Bulky design, keypad tactility, sluggish user interface, proprietary headphone jack The Final Word The G800 is the cream of the crop when it comes to camera phones. Five megapixels, 3x optical zoom and face detect make this a handy imaging device to ha...
  • The G800 is the cream of the crop when it comes to camera phones. Five megapixels, 3x optical zoom and face detect make this a handy imaging device to have in your pocket. Camera aside, the rest of the handset is solid, but not outstanding.

  • 5-megapixel camera with autofocus; 3x optical zoom and face detection; HSDPA.
  • Lack of Wi-Fi; Xenon flash isnt as bright as we expected.
  • This chunky mobile snapper is an attractive slider phone that, although large, is easy to hold and use. The G800s camera comes with all the bells and whistles youd expect from a standalone digital camera, but its not a complete replacement just yet.

  • Abstract:  It seems Samsung are really stepping on it in the 5 megapixel cameraphone race. In a stark display of audacity, the G800 is pitched as a digicam that can make calls. We usually deal with gadgets that are the other way around but weve been eager to test...
