The Note 4 is a handsome phone. After years of plastic blobs

The editors didn't like
Not a massive change from the Note 3
TouchWiz still not amazing
Back still leaves much to be desired
TouchWiz has improved but still not the best experience
Fingerprint sensor is a little fiddly to use
On the pricey side
The Note 4's single back-mounted speaker is not impressive. It's loud
And has a clever little rib on its grill that keeps it from being muffled by a table
But it's sound quality is tinny and just all around bad. It's no way to listen to music
TouchWiz
External speaker placement Slowmotion video Thermal throttling UI latency and stuttering when scrolling
Only 32GB of storage
Relatively expensive
Clunky interface
Ugly back cover
More of the same
Low light and indoor shots aren't as good as they should be
Tacky back panel
Some weird/gross UI elements
S Pen is questionable
It's really expensive
TouchWiz not for everyone
Fingerprint scanner is hit and miss
‘Touchwiz' is still a little heavy-handed
Still a plastic rear panel
Some app/software excess
Fingerprint detection unwieldy at this size
Some multi-screen functions are long-winded and fussy to operate
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is a monster. Samsung took the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink idea to the Nth Degree. The Note 4 has more features than most people will likely ever use or need, but that's sort of the point. The hardware is about the best we've...
Oversized smartphones, endearingly referred to as phablets, were once seen as outrageous monstrosities procured by only a select few in a niche crowd. The poster boy for the large form factor has long been Samsung's Galaxy Note. Now in its fourth iteratio...
Display: Does it even need to be said? Samsung is building the best smartphone displays around. The Note 4's QHD Super AMOLED is bright, vivid, and bold. I love it. The higher resolution doesn't seem to make a difference to me, though, Build quality: On a
Camera issues: I had real problems with image blur on the new rear camera, which is a shame considering how excited everyone was for optical image stabilization. Check out the camera section for examples, Not that fast: The Note 4 feels no faster than a N
As you've likely noticed, this review is considerably shorter than my past reviews of Samsung phones. That's largely because, perhaps thankfully, Samsung has slowed its roll just a bit on adding tons and tons of new software features. There are changes, b...
Quad HD display with great viewing angles, Modern, metal-fied chassis, Takes fantastic rear- and front-facing photos
Single speaker on the back sounds tinny
Yes, the Note 4 is bigger than some of the other flagships out on the market, but when you factor in its beautiful screen, powerful internals, and the utility of the S-Pen, it's a worthy buy....

Have you ever loved a stylus? You just may love this one thanks to excellent notetaking software. Fantastic cameras on both back and front side let everyone see your smiling mug. Battery life is so longlived we're afraid we'll die before it does
Still riddled with gimmicky, novelty, useless UI elements. Come on, Samsung, just give us a pure Android OS with your specialty apps as options
The 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has a brilliant high-resolution screen and takes excellent outdoor shots on its 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization. Using the stylus is more convenient, and the battery charges very quickly
Low light and indoor shots aren't as good as they should be
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will thrill anyone who loves a fast phone with a large screen, but it's best for compulsive scribblers willing to pay a lot for its winning stylus....
When we think of phablets, we expect an experience that makes good use of the extra real estate they're blessed with. Bearing that in mind, that's what makes the Note 4 the superior phablet – one that not only boasts rich features and impressive specs, bu...
Bigger. Better.Samsung sure knows how to add just the right things to each iteration of its leading Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lineups to make the decision difficult as to whether you should upgrade from the previous model. But in the case of the Note 4, th...
Gorgeous design with high-end materials, Nice display, Best camera in a Galaxy smartphone, Powerful performance, Great battery life
Isn't waterproof, Loudspeaker still needs work
Not only is the Note 4 the best Samsung smartphone I've ever used, but it's also the best large-screen phone on the market -- even better than the iPhone 6 Plus....
