We're big fans of the Arc's operating system. It runs Android – as with lots of other Android smartphones – but Sony Ericsson's own interface isn't anywhere as intrusive as some rivals
Offering quick responses and Android at its best. As we've come to expect from Android
The Arc is incredibly intuitive
Letting you move apps around and set up shortcuts on one of the five home screens. The fact
Big screen
Mini HDMI socket
Good camera
Impressive performance
Qualcomm Snapdragon 835
Small size
Promised battery life
The editors didn't like
Screen is a little yellow
Camera and video software could be better
Back key location had us hitting on-screen buttons
Thin
Plastic case seems delicate
No privileged access to PlayStation content or Sony's music and film catalogues
Poor battery life
Timescape is disappointing
No Mac compatibility
Some small issues with software usability
Slightly creaky design
Screen doesn't live up to the hype
Timescape widget is a bit fiddly
Tiny camera button
Solid
But still plasticky build
All plastic exterior
Ambient light detector can only be deactivated
Not adjusted
Sony Ericsson software not developed enough
Large and maybe unwieldy for those with smaller hands
Small
Fiddly power and volume buttons
Timescape widget is rather ugly
Text entry system is a bit last generation
Only five home screens
The biggest disappointment with the Xperia Arc is its woeful battery life. With some of the impressive features turned on
And taking advantage of that huge screen
It's easy to kill the battery within a day. Other than that though
The Xperia Arc has achieved something remarkable – after years of looking at Sony Ericsson phones and going ‘meh', your reviewer would now be quite happy to be using this device for all of his daily telephony needs. For the first time in the past few 18 ...
Sexy, slim design, Lagfree performance, Stunning 4.2inch display, Great Sony Ericsson customisation, Full connectivity including HDMI
Camera is not as great as we expected
It may not be absolutely perfect, but it's definitely a home run. Xperia Arc is the best Sony Ericsson phone in years, and the first great smartphone of 2011.
Sexy, slim design. Lag-free performance. Stunning 4.2-inch display. Great Sony Ericsson customisation. Full connectivity including HDMI
Camera is not as great as we expected. Wi-Fi can struggle to auto reconnect after sleep
It may not be absolutely perfect, but it's definitely a home run. Xperia Arc is the best Sony Ericsson phone in years, and the first great smartphone of 2011....
It's sleek and sexy – exceptionally well-built (though a little plastic-ish), It's fast and fluid – more so than the Atrix (which is dual-core), Great multimedia functions (camera, audio), Thin & light, One of the best displays on a mobile device
Reversed button layout compared to the X10, Notification LED is on the side of the device, so not easily seen, Awkwardly positioned power/lock button that is hard to press, No front-facing camera, though not a big deal
The is the device I’ll be recommending to almost anyone who asks me which Android device to go for. It’s fast, it’s sexy and it does the job extremely well. Sony Ericsson know they stuffed up with the X10, and that has motivated them to produce an a...

Abstract: The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is a smartphone that sells itself on great design. The physical differences between the Arc and its competitors are noticeable from the first time you look at it – it’s sleek and sexy, with a concave backplate that fits nic...
Abstract: The successor to the Sony Ericsson (SE) Xperia X10 has arrived and this stylish new smartphone is aiming to take top spot on your most wanted tech list. There’s no denying that this is one of the sexier devices out there, featuring a stylishly slim des...
Abstract: The year 2011 has been flooded with loads of Android smartphones, plus the touch-screen technology, this year, has surpassed its previous features with even smoother and more precise touch sensing interfaces. Touchscreen phones have now largely swapped th...
Let's start with the negatives, I found the UI unresponsive at times but probably that will be or is already fixed in the updates. The handset has a smooth plastic back which makes the handset slip between your fingers if you have sweaty hands like me. Th...
Abstract: Samsung Galaxy SII (Rs 30,000): at a time when most sequels (Like Hangover 2) didn't quite measure up here's one that actually works. Hot on the heels of the Samsung blockbuster Galaxy S comes the SII with its bold 4.27 inch ‘Super Amoled Plus' display, a...
