Amazing 23MP camera with fun

I love the new design. It's a great improvement on the clear glass back and sharp edges of the Xperia Z2. The Z5 is lighter
It's thinner
And the frosted glass back is nothing short of gorgeous. I think it's up in the realms of the Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6
The Sony Xperia Z5 looks good
Has plenty of power
Its camera can take some great snaps and it won't die when you spill your drink on it

The editors didn't like
Can get hot
Software slow
Battery life isn't as good as it was in older devices
No major updates over the Xperia Z3+
It still gets too hot – the Xperia Z3+ was unbearable and though this is much better it's still not good enough. Playing a game for an hour shouldn't make the phone unholdable
And Sony needs to rethink the processor for the Xperia Z6
I really would have
Only minor updates from its predecessor means it lacks the excitement of its rivals. Its waterproofing no longer allows for full submersion
Meaning it can't be used for underwater photography
Improved sound quality, Good fingerprint scanner, Sharp photos, Crisp, rich picture, Fast operational speed,
Runs too warm, Only Full HD screen, Screen could be brighter, Angular design less ergonomic, Not innovative enough,
In some ways, the Z5 feels like a revised Oxford dictionary. The language and layout is the same, simply more words have been added. Sony has largely stuck to the same Xperia Z script - the Z5 feels like a kind of mash up of the Z3 and Z3+ - and in terms...

Abstract: Not even a day has gone by this past year without someone, somewhere, pondering over the unfortunate fate of esteemed manufacturers of old. Nokia, BlackBerry, even HTC, all are having trouble staying relevant in an increasingly murderous smartphone marke...

After spending a while with the Sony Xperia Z5, I am actually going to be sad to see it go when I switch back to my Nexus 6. The build quality of the Z5 is one of the best I've ever seen, the screen is great, the performance is smooth, and the camera butt...
Awesome camera, Great battery life, Just updated to Marshmallow, Dedicated camera button
Feels fragile in your hand, Weird button placement, No stabilization for the camera, Fingerprint sensor removed
Quick takeThe Sony Xperia Z5 has a sleek look, designed with a metal frame and tempered fingerprint-resistant glass over the display. It delivers a decent display and a solid processor, with a battery that will definitely get you through the day. The real...
It's important to remember that our evaluation and criticisms of the Xperia Z5 are in relation to one of the better smartphone cameras presently available and one rated very similarly to the Z5, that of the Galaxy S6. While there are instances where the Z...

Excellent detail in bright light, Good balance between noise reduction and detail retention in low light, Good exposure and color across ISO range, Decent dynamic range, Very good video quality with very efficient digital stabilization, Excellent detail i
Slight AF-inconsistencies, Low-quality panorama output, HDR mode not too efficient at highlight preservation, 4K video is separate mode, Unintuitive camera app structure (but slight improvement from previous versions), Opening app via button defaults to S
The Sony Xperia Z5 produces very good still image and video quality across the board and with its angular shapes and dedicated camera button offers ergonomics that, on a smartphone, come as close as it gets to a real camera. The device is let down by an u...
Viewed in isolation, the Sony Xperia Z5 is a great phone which excels in almost every area. It packs plenty of processing power, RAM and storage, while MicroSD expandability is a real plus compared with the iPhone and Galaxy S6. The Z5's screen is also b...
