  • Abstract:  But wait! Before you sneak a Nikon D800E into your baby's basket of toys, you'll need to consider choking hazards and the fact that some children are a lot more careful (read: girls) than others (read: boys) when it comes to handling expensive electronics...

  • Sized for small-to-medium hands, the Canon EOS Rebel SL1 delivers the expected photo and video quality in a comfortable and well-executed design
  • It's pretty slim on features
  • While the Canon EOS Rebel SL1 is a perfectly reasonable entry-level dSLR, you can get the same photo and video quality in a smaller body for the same money (or less) by opting for a mirrorless interchangeable-lens model.

  • The EOS 100D / Rebel SL1 is the smallest and perhaps the most surprising DSLR camera that Canon have ever released. Nobody really expected this camera when it was unveiled alongside the more traditional EOS 700D. In many ways it perfectly straddles the d...

  • Highly responsive touchscreen; Petite and lightweight design; Rubberised handgrip; Effective Auto Lighting Optimizer; Image Quality at high ISO; Smooth and silent AF performance; Live preview for creative filters
  • Only one crosstype AF point; Limited amount of AF points compared with its closest rivals; No cheaper than the Canon EOS 700D; Small battery
  • With four DSLRs to choose from in Canon's EOS for beginners range, the Canon EOS 100D sits below the Canon EOS 600D despite it being £170 more expensive. For the extra outlay you'll have the option to push the sensitivity higher in low light, take adva...

  • World's smallest DSLR. Truly compact body, Good photo and video quality, 1080p movies with respectable continuous AF, Excellent touch-screen interface, Microphone input, Remote control over USB using PCs or Macs, New kit lens with very quiet AF and non-rotating barrel.
  • Modest continuous shooting speed at 4fps, No built-in Wifi and no Canon accessory either, Screen doesn't flip-out, it's fixed in position, Basic auto exposure bracketing of three frames, No auto-panorama mode in-camera, Non adjustable AF area size in Live View, Loses size advantage once you fit most Canon lenses.
  • As someone who's been using mirror-less cameras a great deal over the past year I admit to approaching the EOS SL1 / 100D with some skepticism. But once you get it in your hands it really is a very enjoyable camera to use, delivering the quality, hand...
