There's a lot to like about the Fujifilm FinePix X100
Superb quality quality
Exceptional image quality
Versatile yet easy to use
The editors didn't like
A few operational issues
Such as loose menu pad dial and small menu button
Quality design comes at a hefty price
The expense
Backplate buttons could be larger and the scroll wheel is unnecessarily fiddly
No zoom
Common image quality issues including purple fringing and lens flare
Optical viewfinder could be more accurate
Slow to start up and save pictures to the memory card
Macro focusing required for subjects less than 80 cm away
No stabilisation
More custom controls would be nice
Macro not as efficient
Still pricey
Not the fastest AF
Some macro focus issues
Expensive
Not for the mass market
Sluggish performance
Especially for such a high-priced camera
And a frustrating navigation control make shooting with the camera a lot less fluid than it should be
Abstract: All we really knew about Fujifilm's FinePix X100 was that its looks (and pricetag) could kill, but Photography Blog has discovered that the gorgeous magnesium machine takes fantastic photographs too. You won't actually be able to see any of them at th...
The Fujifilm Finepix X100 is one of the most surprising, appealing and well-realised cameras of recent times, offering a compelling mix of intuitive handling, impeccable image quality, and a truly innovative viewfinder. That's not to say that you shou...
Abstract: Otherwise it's hard not to be excited about the X100. For serious photographers who value high image quality in combination with eye-level non-reflex viewing, this is a camera to cherish. The excellent build quality also helps to justify the relatively high price of the X100. I doubt that anyone with the wherewithal to purchase this camera and the interest in what it has to offer, will ever regret its purchase.
Abstract: There clearly are some frustrating aspects to the X100. But, it would be dead wrong to suppose that the negatives outweigh the positives. Far from it. The image quality from this camera is nothing short of exceptional. Not just for a compact camera, but for any type of camera. And the innovative OVF / EVF is a real pleasure to use most of the time. The camera's build quality is first-rate, and one feels that this is a picture..

The Fuji Finepix X100 is a uniquely intriguing camera. Its inconspicuous analog-camera look is alluring for its quantity of buttons and dials, promising efficiency while shooting. A one-of-a-kind hybrid viewfinder lets it have an EVF and an optical-tunnel...
Abstract: Fujifilm's FinePix X100 offers unrivalled image quality for a compact camera, thanks to its APS-C format CMOS sensor and Fujinon 23mm f/2.0 lens. The Hybrid Viewfinder uniquely combines the 'bright frame' window-type optical viewfinder found in high-e...
Okay, I've run out of poison for my pen. So I hate the X100, right? Wrong. This is a real tricky traverse I'm going to attempt here, I hope I don't fall. First, this is an expensive camera for what it does (US$1199). At that price we can get a D7000, s...

I am in love! Yes, the X100 is THE camera that I was always looking for and the only camera I would love to always carry around with me. Maybe it’s not as fancy as a Leica M9/M8.2 or X1, the X100 is also way more affordable than these cameras, and sti...
