Superb quality quality
Exceptional image quality
Versatile yet easy to use
The editors didn't like
A few operational issues
Such as loose menu pad dial and small menu button
Quality design comes at a hefty price
The expense
Backplate buttons could be larger and the scroll wheel is unnecessarily fiddly
No zoom
Common image quality issues including purple fringing and lens flare
Optical viewfinder could be more accurate
Slow to start up and save pictures to the memory card
Macro focusing required for subjects less than 80 cm away
No stabilisation
More custom controls would be nice
Macro not as efficient
Still pricey
Not the fastest AF
Some macro focus issues
Expensive
Not for the mass market
Sluggish performance
Especially for such a high-priced camera
And a frustrating navigation control make shooting with the camera a lot less fluid than it should be

Like: This camera not only feels right to anyone brought up on classic 35mm film cameras it also delivers the goods in excellent images with good colour, sharpness and dynamic range. The lens is outstanding and the viewfinder simply brilliant.
Dislike: The only thing that may hold the X100 back in the market place is the noninterchangeable lens. 23mm on an APSC sensor is moderate wideangle and won't be to everyone's liking, even if it is optically dazzling

Cool retro design; great picture quality even at high ISOs; unique hybrid viewfinder; leaf shutter mechanism for quiet operation.
Confusing menu structure; rear controls a tad messy; performance a bit sluggish.
The X100's design, hybrid viewfinder and image quality are its strengths, but it won't satisfy users who want a camera that delivers snappy performance. ...
Abstract: The Fujifilm FinePix X100 looks like an old Leica rangefinder, has a lens that won't zoom no matter how much you fiddle with it, houses an SLR-quality sensor and boasts a unique hybrid viewfinder. The design is beautifully retro – very 1950s, with a wealth...
Great looking retro design; excellent ISO performance; innovative hybrid viewfinder system; intuitive control layout.
Expensive; iffy autofocus performance; cannot change settings while recording video; mediocre battery life.
There's little doubt that the Fujifilm FinePix X100 is one of this year's most unique cameras. It is as if Fujifilm designed the X100 specifically for camera enthusiasts who yearn to use their old rangefinder cameras again. Yes, what really defines th...
