  • Lens, OIS, build, white balance, live view, responsive, nice menus, image quality, handling
  • Heavy, gloomy viewfinder, noisy images at high ISO, LCD does not flip out and so fails to get the most from Live View capability
  • This rangefinderesque camera is a bit a of a beast but has great magnesium alloy build and, rather than being a budget model, Panasonic has given us a decidedly serious affair and a fairly unique one at that

  • Expensive kit is your only option; very noisy at higher ISOs; somewhat clunky design
  • Panasonics Lumix DMC-L1 is a good first attempt at a dSLR, but a clunky design and noise at higher ISOs destroy its chances of dSLR superstardom ...

  • The Panasonic L1 isnt a mass-market device, and deliberately so, therefore it feels a slightly odd choice of first DSLR for a major electronics manufacturer. In fact, it is hard to know just who the L1 would appeal to beyond the traditionalist who wa...

  • Abstract:  Resembling an oversized 35mm rangefinder camera, the Lumix DMC-L1 boasts a lightweight magnesium-alloy chassis. It’s beautifully finished in satin black with a simulated rubber coating on and around the handgrip. This is a flattop camera without the...

  • Abstract:  The Lumix DMC-L1 marks Panasonics entry into the crowded midrange digital SLR market. Co-developed with Olympus (whose E-330 is quite similar), the DMC-L1 packs a 7.5 Megapixel LiveMOS sensor, a FourThirds lens mount, a 2.5" LCD display with live vi...
